Black Dynamite is an American animated television series based on the 2009 film of the same name, although the series follows a separate continuity, with some back-references to the film. The series was announced shortly after the release of the film, the 10-minute pilot episode was released on Adult Swim Video on August 8, 2011, and the full series premiered on Cartoon Network's late night programming block, Adult Swim, on July 15, 2012. Michael Jai White, Byron Minns, Tommy Davidson and Kym Whitley reprise their film roles as Black Dynamite, Bullhorn, Cream Corn and Honeybee, respectively.

Wow is this highly underrated. It's one of the best shows around, and best animated shows. The comedy is on point... The animation is just killer. Very unique style. The satire is fantastic. The puppet episode was hilarious. Idk why someone would consider any of these episodes to be a "weak" premise, I thought they were actually pretty great. They worked. Other shows usually can't pull stuff like this off, and there is so much boring trash (looking at you, Tim and Eric) on Adult Swim. How I didn't know about this show until recently is a crime

A fine comedy set in 1960's/1970's Los Angelas following the misadventures of Black Dynamite. Heavily satirical and strong with its African-American culture exploration and stereotype jabbing, its a crazy ride full of action. There are a lot of pop culture references that some will understand and some won't. It's funny enough, but it started to get a bit old for me by the end of the second season and ultimately led to me dropping the show with only a few episodes left. Fun to watch if the blaxploitation humor appeals to you, but otherwise it can fall short with its writing quality, humor, and characters. (+) Interesting art style that pops off the screen (+) Likeable main character (=) Humorous, though sometimes too reliant on referential humor (=) Supporting cast is sort of average, as sidekicks get a bit tiresome after a while (-) Devolves into lots of random and weird profanity/sexualization at times, especially in second season (-) Many episodes have a weak premise
