this show gives you a whole new outlook on what our future could hold. I saw 1x03 before google glass was announced and then hearing about glass got me scared as to our potential possible future going down a similar route.

Every episode brings up another topic for thought into our future and morals as a society. S1 is for sure the most memorable but each individual episode is worthy of attention. It really makes you take a deep hard look at what our society is becoming at the cost of technology, to keep advancing and the problems we could face as a society because of this thirst we have for comfort.

the only downside i found watching this series is you have to concentrate to watch it, or you will miss something, and the early parts of the episodes can seem boring at first watch, but watching them over after you have seen the whole episode you will have that "AHHH" moment.

if you are after a series to make your head-spin and bring about plenty of debate between friends and family then this is the show for you.

It is a brilliant thought provoking series and i really hope they make more!

@rayuki Hi! So, can you update the show? It's labeled as Ended, but at TMDB, the correct source, is labeled as renewed, thanks!

As much as I love Black Mirror, I just want to throw it out there that it is far from the only show to do what it does. It may seem like the best because it's on TV right now, and tech is so prevalent in our lives that it's always relevant, but if you take away the modern tech, it's really just a modern Twilight Zone, which it's always been compared to. But it doesn't stop there. There's also The Outer Limits, which was seen as a generic Twilight Zone at the time, but had a revival in the 90s. Both Outer LImits series tended to focus on aliens and the supernatural. Then there was Night Gallery, which was also hosted by Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling. Of course we all remember Tales From the Crypt, and at this point it's worth mentioning Red Shoe Diaries, which was basically the softcore version of Tales From the Crypt. Late night adult programming, but the formula was the same, each episode telling its own story. The best of them, in my opinion, was Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories.

Supposedly, Amazing Stories is being brought back, and last I heard, Apple is financing it (and something from Battlestar Galactica '04 and Star Trek writer Ronald D Moore), so that should be interesting, especially if it lands on a network we can all watch regardless of who makes our phone.

So if you're looking for something to tide you over until the next season of Black Mirror... you've got your work cut out for you!

The synopsis of this series is "A television anthology series that shows the dark side of life and technology.". Succinct but accurate. Season 1 and 2 are so dark it is unsettling, Every episode a brilliantly crafted gem of dark crystal, a future reflection of our dark image. Terrifying but hypnotic. The talent is a showcase of the UK's best young actors.. I give it the first two seasons a 10 out of 10 for it's incredibly creative concepts and writing (and talent), but beware, it's creepy.
Just finished the third season, and after a shaky start it flowered into brilliance again. And don't miss the Christmas Special "White Christmas". That Netflix adds it as the 4th episode of Season 2. Really good, if incredibly eerie, TV watching.
Season 4 begins in Janauary 2017!
I've just begun the 4th season of this series. I have been a fan from the very beginning. Each episode is stand alone but all of them revolve around the series theme of life darkly altered by technology. The writing is brilliant, and I don't say that lightly. Some episodes are truly perfect while a few don't quite hit the mark, but I give the series a 10 (truly ingenious) out of 10, and, it is one of my top ten TV series of all time. This particular episode opens the season with high marks for its tongue in cheek take on a TV SciFi classic combined with swirling dark undertones that lie just beneath a mundane reality. It begins as quirky and ends with a brilliant (there is that word again) resolve. This first episode I give a 9 (you guessed it - brilliant) out of 10. The series is considered a UK production, produced now by Netflix, but has episodes shot all over - the UK, Toronto:flag_ca:, Iceland, Spain, etc., with an international cast from both sides of the pond. Have I gushed enough? Needless to say, I will be binging this season. ****Binge complete - with the exception of episode 5, I was completely satisfied by this season. The writing is intelligent (if somewhat fond of expletives and sex), the acting is top notch and the twists at the end of each episode is that "just a little extra". Well done! Can't wait for the next season - thank you Netflix for rescuing this series.****

When this series started its life as a UK production for Channel 4 it could be described variously as, revolutionary, subversive, dark, subliminal and wholly awesome. Then Netflix came along.....

Now words I'd use to describe it include, bland, woke, lecturing, predictable, formulaic and largely unwatchable.

As far as I'm concerned season 5 is beyond redemption and the last time I'll go anywhere near the franchise.

1/10.
