1. It's not like 50shades and that's a good thing.
2. Don't expect a 'real' depiction of BDSM (I cringed so hard about [spoiler] Mistress May binding her BFF's hands together and leaving him with her sub without his consent [/spoiler], but it has a few nice moments).

I binged it and fell in love with this after the first few minutes. Sure it's a show about BDSM (the main idea, but not so much the rules+empathy) and very feminist (but not in the SJW-shove it down your throat way) so it's not for everyone, but it's showing everything in such a cute, funny and likeable way, I like it.

Where did you get the 'very feminist', @seleth ? Because the female lead is a dominatrix? After writing this question it sounds a little off or even aggressive. I don't mean it that way (sorry I am not a native English speaker and don't know how to ask it better). I really wanna know because I did not get that feeling at all and I generally don't like overly feminist stuff, because I am for gender equality.

@yoknome hey :) I'm no native English speaker too, so maybe the term is different? to me feminism is about gender quality and I think it's nicely done in this show, not like other Netflix stuff, where every male role is kinda evil

thanks for that clarification @seleth :) to me feminism is about putting female needs first (maybe because of the 'shove it in ya face'-feminists, who don't understand what equality means), which often results in males being 'demonized'. So I think we agree, but words are stupid because everyone interprets them a little different, especially if only written and not in ones own language.

It's generally a fun show but I don't think it depict bdsm pretty well. There's several moments where the consent of some characters was totally overlooked :(

@granola Think the used BDSM just as an excuse to address other topics. Don’t think the goal was to depict it in detail.

@granola I had the same issue with season one, season two acknowledges some of that in season 2. For me it's worth to keep watching, but I don't expect an accurate depiction from a show targeted at a main stream audience. If they go in that direction and get better with it, this show could become one of my favorites.

Totally loving this show - adore the characters and the theme and I look forward to seeing more of it in the future. That's right; get your stuff together and produce more episodes. These are characters that need more time on the screen!

I was so conflicted about the 1st season, but I'm so happy that the people making the show seems to have heard criticism because it really elevated the narrative! Absolutely loved the [spoiler] friendship break-up between Tiff & Pete [/spoiler]. It felt very real

Fun and even “cute" show. I love both of the characters and their relationship, I find the show enjoyable but very short. People commenting is not very BDSM and so...
This is more like a comedy and slice of life and that is the important thing of the show, all the “BDSM world" is just the mean for make the comedy instead of being centered on it, and I think that it is what make this a great show.
