_Catching Milat_ offers an interesting, if slightly one-sided, look at the investigation into the Backpack Murders in Australia. The series will be of interest to anyone who has a particular interest in that case or who has an interest in true crime shows. Beyond that, the show doesn't really hit on all cylinders. I think the focus on Gordon is misplaced and ends up taking the focus off of the investigation itself.

As soon as I'd finished _Catching Milat_ I was thinking about one pretty massive issue that it had, and it made me think that it's a problem shared by a lot of Australian True Crime stuff - we spend **so much** time with the villain, but basically learn **nothing** about them beyond the superficial.
