Overall, I'd say that this drama is one of a kind. It focuses more on the political side of society, but without making it super boring and also adding a lot of twists. There are a lot of action scenes that I find really entertaining and they were acted out really well by Minho and all the supporting characters.

However, I can't really say I feel the chemistry between the 2 main leads. Their romance was good at some parts, but overall it was really weird to me. It was kind of like an unrequited love, and so they didn't get to interact much with each other. I found it weird that I ended up rooting for the relationship between the 2 side characters, Young-joo and Sae-hee rather than Yoon-sung and NaNa.

The ending seemed really rushed, random, and wasn't a satisfying way for me to end the series. It was like they decided on a certain ending, but then changed the idea halfway through and just put it all together to make the ending. It was an "okay" ending. I'll just leave it at that.

I didn't like the ending, but the drama, as a whole, was nice to watch, and I found that it didn't drag on too much and each scene fulfilled its purpose. The show was interesting to watch from the beginning, but it gets even more intense near the end, and so I would recommend this drama to people who love to watch action or solve mysteries.

Story

City Hunter (CH) has an interesting premise and promises 'Revenge , Romance and Emotional Trauma ' but it fails to deliver . It is somewhere in between Healer and K2 ; the reason I am comparing is because all three are based on similar elements. While Healer lacks a strong ending it has good emotions and romance (chemistry between the leads) ; CH lacks in romance and emotions while it has an overall good plotline but very slow paced. At times its boring because of the flat romance and uninteresting punch line b/w side characters.

The pace of the plot was good for first 5 episodes and then ok upto 10th episode. I almost dropped the show and wrote a negative review when watching 10-15 episodes and then there is a sudden movement in the plot but not good enough to drag it to 20 episodes.

If the story was paced in to 16 episode series this show would have been well received and enjoyable without the unnecessary reuse of footage.

Lee Min-ho again fails to deliver emotions and tanks a good show. Except for in ' _Legend of Blue Sea_ ' i could never sympathize with his characters. Given how untalented he is in action scenes ; the directors did a wonderful job by not using too many stunts and do natural eye-pleasing fights.

Park Min Young - this being one of her earliest shows - has less plastic surgery and looks natural in her acting. [spoiler] Neverthless despite dating Min-ho in real-life they both fail to deliver the emotions. Her need to be independent is at times annoying and so were the reasons to be separated. [/spoiler]

Sang-Joong has a stellar performance as Jin-pyo and his guilt driven blood revenge is nasty but I did sympathize with his emotions and reasoning ; [spoiler] In his eyes the injustice done to the 20 marines is simply not pacifies by arresting these 4-5 corrupt politicians [/spoiler]

[spoiler] Jun-Hyuk as a prosecutor has chased after truth to the end ........ [/spoiler]

Rest of the cast did an ok-job given how limited the growth in their characters .

The bgm is good enough and matches well with the flow of fights.


Overall Verdict

This is a show that would be quite enjoyable if you keep your expectations in check and not compare with Healer. If you have already watched healer and enjoyed it ..avoid this ; it is a not a great substitute for post-Healer even after 2 months.
