I normally don't watch Sci-Fi Anime, but i'll recommend this one to everyone. The Story and Animation was awesome.
Overall you I can say it's a combination of Pacific Rim (2013) and Beauty and the Beast (Disney Animation).

One of the rare occasions when I'll refuse to round my rating up, even though the number technically qualifies.

_Darling in the FranXX_ (I have no idea where Trakt's data sources got that weird all-caps thing) is actually a pretty good show, for roughly the twelve middle episodes. I found it "meh" at first, and the last 6-8 episodes were made of "WTF?" in my opinion—but when the show is focusing on the characters' relationships and not a universe-spanning "AI YO" deus ex machina, it's an enjoyable watch. Even though Zero Two annoys the absolute living [spoiler]**fuck**[/spoiler] out of me and the way she's written doesn't make sense half the time.

Level "Interesting" • 7 :heart: • Entertaining and Good.

A story that is so bad that it almost falls into the category of it so bad its good and would probably have achieved cult status as the most unintentionally hilarious Evangelion rip-off ever but the anime takes itself way too serious. I could see otaku's going around with T-shirts at Con's with Kanji that reads "I want you to ride in my mech Darling in the Franxx style". The thing i found the most hilarious is that the characters spend most of their time training with a mech that you operate by having your female partner in doggy-style position with controllers that come out of her hips but you cannot figure out what sex is until you find an old book on reproduction.

Although, I have to give this anime praise for having the best homoerotic lines of any sci-fi anime I have seen. "Like I said, we nines can be both stamens and pistils. Besides you put to much strain on your partner. No ordinary pistil could handle it. Anyway give me taste of what you can do! Actually this feels just like... Of course it does. Where Iota's clones."

It is like pacific rim in anime! I love how they desingned zero two! I find her quite cure uWu. Animation and music is good as well. If you are into sci-fi than this is a must watch! Totaly ninja!

Basically an evangelion clone. Still a great story tho

once it dropped the pervert shit atleast somewhat (i get it puperty and all but still), the anime got a really good story that had me sob more than once. I only really watch sci-fi animes and I finished it in one day. Probably also going to rewatch at some point. Can recommend :)
