@laurenhannah Yep i feel exactly the same. I liked the first ~ 5 episodes. Then Karma grows more and more unsympathetic and gets finally one of my most hated character in any series. I am now at S03E05 and it got completly unwatchable for me. I am just gonna skip through the end now.
Of course it gets dumber and dumber as well. And i havent even spoken about any of the serious issues here.

The premise may seem bad, but it is actually super fun. I enjoy this show overall.
However it would be foolish to whitewash all it's problems away because it is enjoyable. The whole "straight girls are only pretending to gay for attention" thing is problematic but the girls in the show know it is bad, though they are still foolish teens and do it anyway.
The biggest issue with it is that the characters are publicly "outed" against their will, by another gay character (who should really know better). This is super-not okay, and nobody is ever called out for this or told off. Maybe it'll get addressed later. Probably not.
Plus something about Amy's obsession with television and hatred of all she meets very relatable, for some reason.
Love it.

this isn't offensive. it doesn't promote homophobic ideas. the only characters portrayed in a negative light are the homophobic ones. people need to get over the premise because that's not all it is. it's nice to see a show portraying the feelings i had that isn't making everything doom and gloom. plus it's cute as fuck

one of the girls does struggle with her sexuality. so if you read the premise and think it's offensive i'd say give it a chance. i thought it sounded dumb when i first heard about it too.

lol sorry but i've hated this from the moment i heard about the premise, even after watching the first two episodes. it may not be promoting the idea that being gay is wrong, but it's perpetuating the idea that queer girls are faking their sexuality for attention, that coming out is SUCH an easy thing to do and that publicly outing someone is in anyway helpful or healthy.

it definitely doesn't suggest that coming out is easy. to me it shows that coming out is more of a battle with yourself, not with the rest of the world. the girl is "out" to everyone in school and her family. it's disappointing we haven't seen more of her familys feelings on it though, but it's only 3 episodes in. it looks like they will be concentrating more on amy herself and how she feels. even though the majority of people around her are accepting, she still struggles because it doesn't matter if they accept her, coming out is about accepting yourself.

also, it doesn't say that queer girls are faking it for attention. the premise is not that farfetched because yes, there are straight girls who say they are lesbian for attention. but of course that doesn't mean every lesbian is faking it. give people some credit, they don't need tv shows to tell them that outing people can be harmful. and if they do they're already a lost cause. and the stupid cishet white boy trying to turn her, so what? people like that exist. you don't have to like or agree with every single character. if everyone was perfect and had good morals, that would be an awfully dull show.

I agree. Whilst there is no denying the premise is problematic, the "cute as fuck" aspect makes it great.

not only is the show incredibly offensive and promotes homophobic ideas, but all the characters are annoying and not even one bit of this show is likable. it's literally shit and i cannot believe it was made into a show. i really really hope it gets cancelled because i, along with many others, am incredibly offended by it.

It's fun and quirky. It's not a high-quality show, but it is enjoyable.
Plus, I love how liberal the school and all the characters are. It's awesome.
