Complex and subtle humor, but if you get the Clement + McKenzie + Waititi humor, you will absolutely fall in love with this show. It's extremely charming and ridiculous. You'll be disappointed when you realize there were only two short seasons (by the way, this was because the guys were so worn out making the show, not because they got cancelled).

This is a 10 for me. I knew a lot of their viral songs from when the series first came out, but never got to watching the actual episodes.

Now in 2023 I finally have easy access to the series and I’m so happy I watched it, it goes straight into my top 10 comedy series. Absolutely brilliant.

The humor is on another level entirely, doesn’t matter whether it’s clever puns, prop humor, slapstick or dad jokes, the perfect delivery and timing from these two result in heartfelt laughter every single episode

A must watch, and definitely one I’ll be recommending!

I very much admire the art of this humor, the gentle musical intonation, which eliminates the everyday trivial sadness and transforms it into a unique winning smile onto every awkward source of grotesque that might threaten human hope for freedom.

Fine and precise comical methods are employed and I love the show. I've come to it in a very bad moment of my life, just before the second successful suicide attempt of my accountant.

Bret and Jemaine helped me to move on. Love you, guys, you are a compliment to the comical tradition of unexpected inspiration.

Average season rating: 7.2166666…
Average episode rating (since it's easy enough to calculate over just 22 episodes): 7.227272727…

No matter how I calculate, it looks like this show deserves a 7 from me.

As I said in my season 1 summary comment, it's not always the easiest show to get into. I'd put off watching it in favor of other things because there's a certain amount of energy that goes into appreciating the humor. At least, for me there is.

Honestly, I thought the show got easier to watch toward the end of season two, but then it ended. :/
