Welcome to the (in part) Ricciardo fan-show. Where are Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Räikkönen in this? How is bashing some of these drivers, showing their downs, but not cheering them, showing their highs, an accurate documentary? It is not. You could argue if it is needed. You could argue if it is the aim of the show. All irrelevant. I miss the balance in this "show". It would have been fair to kick some of these drivers but also cheer them. Instead some you hardly ever see. Some are painted in a bad light and some are cheered. The relationship between Renault and Red Bull is also sometimes taken completely out of context. Don't get me wrong. I like the show and would recommend anyone to see it... but bare in mind that the creators had a very painted pair of glasses.

@alexvanniel The coverage just depended on how much unfettered access teams and drivers want to give to the producers and on how much money they ask, assuming the unfettered access is given.

@alexvanniel I agree with you 100%. Watching episode one, it felt like watching an advertisement for Ricciardo. If the rest of the season is like that, I'm out.

Different coverage in different episodes. Fortunately they seem to have made an exception for Kimi Räikkönen as he is the most boring and grumpy person on earth

@joggs_ my review was actually for the first season. This third season is more or less a recap of 2020 so we can watch the upcoming season while remembering what happened last year. I had hoped this 3rd season would be good but it lacks some depth.

@alexvanniel the creators ALWAYS have a very painted pair of glasses on any tv show. I used to think that documentary kind of tv shows would be strictly about the documented truth and facts but that's not true either.
Truth in documentaries or any other type of tv show always have one interest: audience, tv share, money. And even when neither of those are factors, we always have the truth being told from the standing point and from the eyes of the creator.
The same story can be told in millions of ways.
For instance, you would maybe say that the recent F1 history is about the legendary driving skills of a driver called Lewis Halmilton. I, on the other hand, could say that the recent F1 history is all about a not-much-better-than-average driver landing on a team that was wise enough to invest all they had on the project on the wake of the new era of F1 tech rules back in 2013.
That team became invincible and that driver has been smart enough to manipulate his team mates. As simple as that.
So, the truth is always very subjective.
