The story revolves around Haruka Nanase, a boy who has always loved to be immersed in water, and to swim in it. Before graduating from elementary school, he participated in a swimming tournament along with his fellow swimming club members, Makoto Tachibana, Nagisa Hazuki, and Rin Matsuoka. After achieving victory, each of the boys went their separate ways. Time passed, and in the middle of their uneventful high school lives Rin appears and challenges Haruka to a match, showing Haruka his overwhelming power. Not wanting it to end like this, Haruka, gathers together Makoto and Nagisa once again and brings a new member named Rei Ryugazaki to create the Iwatobi High School Swimming Club in order to defeat Rin.

this really is just an anime that's pretty much about swimming and friendship. there were funny moments as well as serious moments, and some that were a bit sad as well. despite the fact that there was a lot of fanservice, i quite enjoyed this anime way more than i expected to. don't let the fact that it's about a sport deter you from it.

Not bashing it, but it was the second sports anime I watched, I wished it was the first because Yuri on Ice!!! Is infinitely better. The characters are fantastic though, well written, likeable, their intentions and motivations are fantastic, their relationships are even better. I enjoyed what I got through. But my god it was repetitive, not as bad as Dragon Ball or Naruto (not Shippudin) but it was an effort to get the second season

i usually like some gay bl anime like No.6, but this has an awful amount of fanservice, think Vividred Operation meets K-ON but with man. the characters are terribly generic and the plot(?) is not that interesting either. awful. awful. awful. awful. the keyword here is awful. sorry for the excess of the usage of the world awful, but that was so much hype for such terrible payoff. so, my rating for that is 1/10,
