It was one of the best shows of this year. Animation was impressive and each episode has its own charm and a warm feeling attached to it. Those not too hard laughable scenes adds an extra charm to those warm feelings. In some places it felt like a laid-back show while in some it was dramatic, which kept the show in balance.
Every character has their own uniqueness and a dark side by being a part of Souma family, not much was cleared about the clan in the first season though. I am looking forward to the next season.
I'll definitely recommend everyone to watch this show.

**Edit:** Second season was mostly about Side-Character Development so compared to first season it was less impactful.

**Edit 2:** Third season was the best of all. They finally gave a closure to all the aspects. But honestly I'd love to see more from this show. Now I'll be waiting for _The Story of Kyoko and Katsuya_.

An incredibly wholesome Anime about life, loss, and being kind. A worthwhile show.

**Edit:** The third season started slow but wow was it incredible. It really made for a phenomenal story and a beautifully orchestrated closure.

Fruits Basket is one of the most widely recommended animes for a reason. While not my favorite, there are some fantastic characters, secrets, and best of all, it's a completed story with a solid ending. Side characters and overarching plots (Shigure, Akito, and friends) were a clear highlight for me, while the love triangle aspects seemed frivolous and unnecessary. Oh, and Haru is the best character in the show.

Wow, what a journey! I almost didn't continue after the first episode: *poof* turning into cute animals, exaggerated crashing through the ceiling. Sticking around, we get some really complex family drama and deep character development. Really dark points. Insightful life lessons. Powerful moments in season 3. Great wrap up of the storylines by the end of the show.

I watched the original Fruits Basket anime and read the entire manga over a decade ago and remembered 50% of what happened in the story but damn, while watching this reboot, the storyline _still_ punched me in the gut and gave me the same emotions (suspense, heartbreak, hope, etc.) I had during my first watch :sob: Especially because they were able to animate the entire story from the manga (iirc, the og anime only went up to the end of season 1). Seriously such a great series with interesting and likable characters who all have so much growth and development. My only issue is that I would have liked more
Kyo/Tohru episodes and storylines (especially throughout the second and third seasons) but I think that's just me being a hardcore (god I haven't used this word in a while ) shipper. The other issue I have is that literally **everyone** in the series is straight (also a handful of relationships with questionable age gaps...) but I guess that's the trade-off to being faithful to the source material
Anyways, I think this anime is a must-watch!

This show is surprising. It's great and warm about people and the intricacies of how people relate. It shows people and their struggles in life and uses the female lead as the anchor for it all. It is a show about love but not quite about romance. There is no action to speak of yet its thoroughly entertaining.

One of the best third seasons of ANY show I’ve watched ever.

The writers and producers are to be commended for such a satisfying end to such a beautiful show.

Many don’t understand why this show gets the hype it does, but honestly, you have no heart if you can watch even Season 1 without feeling ‘something’!

It was a pleasure to see Kyo find his feet, and Toru find her world.

Also, I loved so many of the artful moments, quiet and unassuming, but conveying sooooo much story in just a few frames.

Truly... this is a show worth watching and rewatching, and is destined to become a classic for the ages.

This is really exceptional story telling. You laugh, you cry, you pine... it’s a beautiful tale.

If you’re just starting this, the first few episodes may seem like run-of-the-mill stuff, but as the mystery deepens, so do the yarns binding the tale together beautifully.

Really 10/10
