Why? Just watch the original version, 100% this won't go more than a season

@ajrobson Shameless ran way longer than one season - and at least the first episodes even had the same dialogue...

@ajrobson It will survive, it's the #1 new comedy this season and #2 behind YOUNG SHELDON. You wouldn't get these adaptations if middle America didn't think British accents were foreign languages.

@ajrobson Looks like it just got renewed. Still, the UK version is better so far.

@dougeller I don't think its better, I just think the US versions is tailored to the audience. They both work towards their perspective audiences.

@ajrobson it's just the right mix of "lift from original" and "regional change". I'm watching the US and UK versions side by side and enjoying both equally. Not often a sideways version works, but credit to the US team for doing it.

I just don't agree with all these comments about just watching the UK version. The Americanized Office worked, why can't this one? That is all you hear, "don't they ever have any ideas of their own?" There are countless attempts at original shows every year and no one watches them either. Starting a show with a built-in audience just make sense sometimes.

And after just seeing the hour premiere, I do enjoy it just as much as the original. They did change some of the characters and im all for the differences.

@matts Not to mention Shameless - where opposed to this I couldn't stand the original (I just didn't like the actors)

@player8472 That is true Shameless is another one that had a hit American version. I wasn't fond of the UK version at all.

@matts I watched both. I really think the UK version hung together much better and seemed "fresher?" The American version just didn't have as much zing to it. Sorry for being vague. It's like talking about the "it" factor. I just don't think the American version has "it"

@defuria I can agree that the American version doesn't do a good job at making them feel like ghosts. Maybe its too bright? I still enjoy watching after 35 episodes but yeah its not really the same as the original. I wouldn't call the original fresher though. They are written for completely different audiences after all.

I honestly think the U.S. version is better than the U.K version. It has better comedic timing, likable characters, and overall I like the chemistry a lot more between this cast overall then the other series, everyone feels more friendly and has great interactions, especially between the main couple, so I think it's great. (I also love Rose McIver, so that's a nice touch!)

@masterofcoin better chemistry? The UK core cast has been performing together for almost 20 years in kids shows, comedies and films...

@glasgow1975 I know that, I watched the original and know all the history and I still believe that, it feels snappier and overall flows better, it's just personal preference really.

Not as good as the original (British version 2019). I would recommend watching the original over this. However, that's not to say you won't enjoy this show - you might.

How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!

This adaptation was properly done. Do I prefer the UK version? Sure, but this is still a fun watch. Discount all the British TV elitist reviews written before the Oct. 7, 2021 premiere.

What? Why? Has CBS run out of ideas? Looking at the poster this will be stupid & SJW version of the original UK show. Go watch the original, such a great show.

One flaw is that the ghosts have reflections when they are standing by mirrors in one scene. Otherwise I was entertained. Rose Mciver (iZombie) is a plus.

Love the UK version. The first ep of this one is pretty cute. Looking forward to seeing everyone settle into their characters and having their back stories and current relationships fleshed out. Looks like a solid crew, should be good.

To all the folks saying it's a crappy copy of the original, just remember that The Office was too and was far better than the original. I like the BBC version of Ghosts, it's cute, but drones a bit, I'll watch this one and see how it goes. What I'm more concerned with, given the network it's airing on, is how woke it's going to be since they can't seem to not put extremist woke BS in every one of their shows.

I usually find UK humour is good, US humour is good, but remakes are pretty much guaranteed to disappoint. After watching S1-3 of UK Ghosts, and Eps 1-6 of US Ghosts in the past few weeks I've got to say well done to the US team. If I didn't know which was the original, I would have credited the UK version with being the poor copy. You win this time USA.

It's nothing like the original (which is a comfort show to me), but it has it's moments and I think given time it can come into its own.

The UK version is gold with its incredible writing and creativity. This US version is also quite good and I'm glad it exists. It has launched from the UK version not trying to copy it but being it's own thing and constantly creating more lore around the supernatural aspect. I'm enjoying the new ways it is taking the material and they are having a lot of fun with it. Plus this US version gives us more episodes/comedy!

I'm not going to even bother with this, the BBC version is superb and to sully it with this obvious dilution would be a sacrilege.
