I don't really know what to say when it comes to Glee, there were some great performances with stunning choreography and groundbreaking vocal ability, especially when it came to the likes of Mercedes and Rachel. However, Glee is riddled with issues.

As a character, Rachel Berry, is one of the most annoying here. Her vocal talent os amazing but she is constantly putting people down in order to catapult herself into stardom - she is never shown to be a good friend or show compassion towards others apart from a few rare occasions.

The next thing, is Will Schuester, this show tried to make us like a man, that made children twerk, refused to grant a transgender kid access to private bathroom because of a petty argument with Sue, and let's not forget when he planted drugs in Finns locker to blackmail him into joining the Glee club.

There were episodes that stood out to me however, such as the season 5 episodes - bash, 100, and the Quarterback. Some of my favourite performances were It's All Coming Back to Me Now, I Feel Pretty/ unpretty, No One Is Alone, I Believe on A Thing Called Love. Despite its issues Glee do handle some pretty serious topics such as grief, gaybashing, and being disowned by your family for who you are.

It probably didn't need to last as long as it did but overall I'm not mad that i watched it in its entirety because I did enjoy my time whilst watching or despite its issues.

Ryan Murphy triggers something in me, he knows how to write interesting characters and plots - as seen in AHS or his latest; Ratched. I watched the first season of Glee back when the show first aired but never bothered to finish the rest of the series. I started again now to see it in its entirety because I only now realized Ryan Murphy's part in it... You can tell he grew in those years because while Glee is enjoyable to watch and certainly had ground-breaking stuff for the time, it is not as good in the storytelling department as his later work.

One of the worst things for me (bear with, I'm currently in season 2 but I have seen bits and pieces throughout the years to know that she'll stick around) is that Rachel is put in the spotlight over and over again. She is a horrific character, annoying, arrogant, self centered and I loathe her with a passion. I can't for the life of me understand how the fellow Glee members tolerate living in her constant shadow and not a single episode goes by without her picking up yet another solo. So I heard Lea Michele was Ryan's muse at the time and I also heard the rumors after the show wrapped that Lea was apparently even worse than her character... so my judgement is also clouded on Rachel as a character and maybe I am unable to see growth or depth for now but still..

I like the music. Not all songs are done justice but overall the music is good and characters like Mercedes, Brittany, Sue and Quinn bring humor, warmth and fun dialogue. So I'm sticking around.

Many people may say that "Glee" is a series full of clichés, but it is undeniable to ignore that glee is a series that needs to be seen, despite the fall in the seasons it has a message to be treated.
When I saw glee right away I identified with the characters because they had teenage problems, so it made her so special.
Give it a try, you'll like it!

Really good show :)

I really like it how this show promotes music, and musical theatre, and really helps you know that being different isn't a bad thing at all! Nearly all the characters are likeable- it's unique too, I miss it now, but I rewatch it a lot! :) <3
