This won 2 AACTA Awards, among others, one of them being best television drama? Really?
Does that mean the Australian television landscape is mediocre at best?
Don't get me wrong, the show itself has its moments but other than that this lacks greatly.

The dialogues are either stupid or simply terrible. Scenes have often consistency errors.
People other than our cast are background noise only or there to provide exposition.
Hayes is incredibly stupid, making everything worse with his decisions, especially in the first season. This character trait bugged me greatly. Telling Vic what's going on without any proof or willingness to proof what he said, leaving in the middle of the discussion with the words "I am not crazy". Yeah, clichéd and always works, right? Omitting crucial information just because it creates drama between characters (Chris for another example).
That the risen have some sort of border, a limit, was obvious the moment Carlos died. That Alexandro died roughly the same time is no excuse to dismiss the potential danger of leaving town with others. Pay attention Hayes!
The moment the doctor said Sarah "technically died" was f**king random and ridicolous. Instantly triggered me thinking that she isn't Sarah anymore. Should have ringed all bells for Hayes as well, but he is an idiot, so it didn't. He can't put two and two together.
Characters turn to assholes, or turn out to be one because the really interesting things aren't the point of this show.
Sarah's family is of no concern in this show, so killing is of no concern, no one will ever ask any questions about the killed ones. Generally burying bodies wherever you want will raise no further questions or suspicions, it was the same with Vic.
There's no explanation how the dead are raised other than magical science crap. However, that one is at least just a small part, even if it enables the whole story, it's more of a MacGuffin, really. But still lacking.
Also no explanation on who Vic was after he died, or Beau's father, or Sarah, where they come from, why they have no limits and such because - again - the interesting things aren't the point here.
The end is open as of S2 and unsatisfying as is. Glitch is apparently trying to get a third season order or more to end things and not to answer things when it's time.

While Glitch is overall not the worst show ever it definitely is nowhere near the praise it did get.
Could you watch it? If you have nothing else, sure. Do you need to? No, not at all.
Acting is most of the times good, though. I enjoyed at least the performances of the risen, except Vic and alike, and the actor playing Beau.
