If this isn’t the worst horror anthology ever, I don’t know what is.

@phantombby care to elaborate? Im 4 episodes in and I find it quite enjoyable. The production quality is high. The tone and scale of other worldliness is on point for Del Toro's work. The acting is great. The stories are interesting. I can get if it's not for you, but hardly the worst even if you aren't a fan of the style.

@suguk downloaded Netflix Extended for Chromium/Firefox, saves few clicks and blurs thumbnails and episode info

if you haven't seen it, don't watch it. big disappointment. don't waste 8 hours of your life on this, there are many more things worth giving up 8 hours of your life for. it's not worth it.

[Netflix] Less riveting than you might expect from Guillermo del Toro, there are some brilliant episodes and outstanding staging, but it can't avoid the traditional lopsidedness of anthology series. Because it achieves its formal envelope better than its narrative content, although it claims the classical structure as the main element, and curiously it fails in the adaptations of its main referent, H.P. Lovecraft.

What did Netflix do when they already employed one of the best directors of horror/fantasy movies?

A) Make him actually direct the serie he's created?

B) Make bunch of random do that?

If you answered B, you're correct.

Mix of better and worse stories at best, lackluster and bland at worst.

Out of all the excellent works of Lovecraft, they chose probably least interesting and original ones.

I rate it "Guillermo go back to the labirynt and don't come out before the dinner" out of ten.

It's entertaining, but not all episodes have the same quality. It's like a Love Death & Robots, but with the horror genre. In my opinion,
Ep 3 > Ep 6 > Ep 1 > Ep 7 > Ep 2 > Ep 5 > Ep 8 > Ep 4.
Some great names along the episodes, and great actings too, like Lincolns' in the last episode or Grints' in ep 6. Still, recommended to watch, a nice 6.5-7/10

This show is an odd one. It's good, but not many people will like every episode. It touches on all kinds of horror and there'll probably be a couple of episodes you'll find straight up boring or even bad. For me it was really hit or miss aswell. I liked episodes 2, 1 and 4 the best (in that order). After that it went down hill even though episode 6 had a promising build up. I do hope we get a second season.

I just watched all the episodes and honestly? disappointing, nothing new, there was such a hype for having del toro involved and it doesn't reach the hype, for me episode three, five and eight are the only good ones, these I recommend watching.
(episode 7 is the worst thing I've ever watched in my life, horrible, -10/10)
