For fucks sake. This series is a godamn dream and they've touched on everything alright. This series is so immersive that when the crew won their Oscars, I felt my heart bursting with joy. My, my what a plot. What a cast. Absolutely gorgeous. Also love, how there is loads of queer representation here. Everyone's gay but that's not what you're gonna stay for. It's the chemistry and the actors and how godamn awesome this series is. 100% recommend.

I get that's it's a fantasy about Hollywood, but for me it's immersion breaking given the time-period.

And what does it say about people who had to actually live those lives? all they had to do is be brave and all will be good & well? I'm sorry but it just feels disrespectful to their actual struggles & hardships. Strikes a nerve really.

Having said that, it's well acted at least. Just think it fails at delivering the message it set out to deliver.

First two episodes are way more interesting then the storyline afterward. Anyway, it's enjoyable.

[Netflix] Ryan Murphy's Dreamland. It is a little trivial and unnecessary. It has elements very typical of Ryan Murphy's series, in the worst sense. As a fantasy, it can be fun. But the apparent depth of his message remains a stupid lavish recreation of a nonexistent Hollywood. You just have to notice how it trivializes sexual abuse, while denouncing homophobia and racism.

Perhaps a touch too idealistic.

It doesn't always feel like the obstacles the characters face pose much of a threat or challenge to what they want. Everything is overcome rather easily with little pushback or repercussions. Being a fantasy version of classical Hollywood, it does work to an extent - but it also feels weird to fictionalize real-life people like Rock Hudson in this way. On the one hand, it's liberating to give him and other marginalized people the lives and success they deserved, but on the other hand it easily trivializes actual hardships like racism and homophobia into very minute problems.

It's well-made and engaging, but certainly not a true-to-life representation of Hollywood--in the 40s or now.

If Murphy could have contained this within 4, maybe 5 episodes then we would have something amazing on our hands.

As strong as it starts, the longer it goes on, it becomes like one of those classes where the professor rambles on about the same thing for 20 minutes and you just want to leave the lecture.

I love this show! Please do not stop this series! I love the real life struggles that it represents in the past, present, & will probably continue in the future (unfortunately). Every character has a meaning, which a lot of show & movies have lost that aspect. Please continue on with more!!! Great Job for everyone that participated in this series for all parts.

This series was exactly what I wanted. I like fiction that tackles serious issues, but tv shows that do this are often so dark and grisly to play on how terrible it is. Sure, there is a merit to that kind of thing, but I want things looking up! I want a happy end and I want to _know_ that happy end is coming! I don't get into fiction to feel even worse, if I want a super realistic account of terrible real world issues I'd read a biography.

It’s ok. Enjoyable, but more style than substance. Like takeaway food, I’m not thinking about the show between episodes. Good actors but flat character portrayals.

This show is truly amazing, sure the writing and plot may non always be perfect but the world building and characters is what really makes the show incredible for me. I have watched this show around 5 times since it first released and have enjoyed each time. The show is not life changing nor is the writing on par with shows like the wire or breaking bad but it doesn’t have to be and that’s why I like it. This is one of my favourite comfort shows and anytime I don’t have anything to watch I can just turn this on watch it and love it
