Overall, I was very impressed with the way all the elements of the production came together and very effectively created an ever-present, brooding tension. Good performances by a very capable cast with the scenes between Julia Roberts and Stephan James being of particular note. Also, I believe Bobby Cannavale is very underappreciated (as was his recent series Vinyl) and his work in this show is solid, as is Shea Whigham's. Sam Esmail, of Mr. Robot fame, does some great things behind the camera – framing, lens choices, and camera movement – and makes some stylistic choices which create additional visual interest without being completely over the top – something he did quite well in the episodes of Mr. Robot he directed. Damned interesting story presented well on all fronts. I highly recommend it, but be forewarned, this is not a show for short attention span viewers. The pace is often slow and deliberate, which for me, just added to the tension and anxiety. As a _psychological_ thriller, it’s supposed to be uncomfortable, and I felt it achieved this very effectively throughout.

Superb show. Mysterious, good looking, odd but brilliant music cues. Esmail is a huge talent. Shea Whigham also proved he has the acting chops when given the material.

The question is, "Is it worth the wait?" It doesn't become a thriller until episode 6, until it gets there it's just a puzzle, really slow and very confusing. The half hour format is annoying. If you are willing to slog through the first 5 episodes, it might be a worthwhile watch. (It has been nominated for 3 Golden Globes, one of which is Best Television Series - Drama.) The acting is consistently good, the premise resolves nicely, it just takes a long time to get where it's going and it isn't a mystery (we never have enough clues to foretell). I give this series, episodes 1-5 a 5/6 (meh/fair), but the last 5 episodes 7/8 (good with great moments), but for me, it settles in as an overall 7.5 (a lot of work to get to "good") out of 10. Not a Julia Roberts fan, but had heard this was good, and it didn't disappoint. Wouldn't say gripping, but holds your attention well. Music was amazing. Sometimes I couldn't tell if I was engrossed because of the music, or because of the story, at times. Great actors and acting; very fun to watch their performances. Intriguing plot. Overall, very enjoyable, and wish their was more streamable content like this.

The vibe, the drama, the style... Everything comes together here. And Bobby Cannavale, whenever I see him he does an incredible job.

For a little more than half of the season this show felt very much in the vain of favourite classics "The Prisoner" and "Nowhere Man". A tense, mysterious trip into something that almost seems surreal.

Unlike these other shows (in some way) this show offers an ending and an answer however which only gets you as far as it goes.. (ie not far enough)

Apparently in 2022 even TV will be made by people who forget to turn their iPhones to landscape when they're shooting video.
But seriously, did they think their audience would be too stupid to work out which of the 2 timelines we were in without cutting off 50 percent of the screen.
It certainly wasn't worth it just for that episode 8 reveal.
This was a great series, filled with many little twists and turns. I was curious to see how Sam Esmail's unique style would translate to other projects; it does beautifully. His distinct camera work adds suspense and mystery, and certainly keeps you drawn-in, especially when paired with the perfectly-suited music. The acting is great too! Julia Roberts is as good as ever, it's great to see her on a show, so she can really develop a character. Bobby Cannavale, a carry-over from Mr. Robot, is great as Julia Robert's boss. He is a very underrated actor. I was probably impressed most by the performance of Shea Whigham, he brought a lot to a character that in other hands might be an afterthought.

Overall, great series. Have patience while watching it, it will pay off in the end.

Well that was far better than expected, especially as the trailers didn’t do it justice.

I loved the way they told the story and the filming too; almost had a Kill Bill feel with episode titles and the feel of the cinematography in places.

If told differently, I think it would have been uninteresting, but it was cleverly done to keep you guessing.

Great cast too.

Not something I’d normally watch, but I’m glad I did.

Shockingly pretty darn good. I thought the second season would have killed it. But it didn't. Obviously the first season was great. Julia Roberts was well Julia Roberts :). I really like how the second season wasn't so much of an extension of the first but more of an outlook. You know what I mean? Watch. You'll see.
