> FRIENDSHIP, ˜˜LOVE˜˜, MUSIC, FAMILY, COMFORTING. A comfortable , refreshing musical drama .

I am a sucker for hospital dramas with heavy story line but Hospital Playlist from the on-set looked like a playful musical than a show with good plot and hence i didn't pick it up when its aired in Netflix despite the high ratings and buzz. I picked it up now after watching Reply Series and this is from the same writer ; you will see one of the couple from R1988 make a cameo.

STORY
--------

For once we have a hospital drama that doesn't involve politics of ownership
although the first 30mins seemed to go in that direction but it was just a bluff / hook to rope us in
and subae beating the interns and doctors beating the residents. I also doesn't show doctors with unethical practices fighting an ethical doctor (Dr.Romantic ??) and for a change doctors apologize to patients even if they are at no fault and patients vent on doctors for their issues and for no fault in them.

Apart from that the romance in the show is pretty bland ; there is no strong character development or plotline to support that. There will be times you might zone out when they get technical with all the fancy doctor-ish words but even when you don't know the terms used, you'll feel the urgency of an operation, the sadness of a life lost and the joy of a successful surgery and that's all that matters. But even that gets boring when its on a repeat for 85mins atleast 3-5 patients being treated for critical diagnosis ; you wouldn't get enough time to get attached and be emotional with the patients ; so the pacing is at fault when u binge the show instead of those who watched it when its being aired.
All the twists and plot is very predictable ; you know which crushes will get accepted and which get rejected pretty easily. It didn't make sense to me why a doctor would want to become priest and why he would give up that conviction for a girl lol . For a while the writer forgot to develop Ik-Jun and Song-hwa ; may be she is saving for Season2 . Jun-wa romance with Ik-Sun was also unintersting and bland.
Well in conclusion the famous writer of R-series has failed to develop a good plot for Season1 ; Instead of releasing multiple Season on Netflix she should have done a 20 -epsiode 1Season with complete plot.

CAST
-------
It has an All-Star cast and the acting was A+... I truly don’t think we need to discuss that. With that cast you can expect outstanding performance and still be surprised with how good the end result it.

MUSIC
--------
I liked most of the songs played by the band but I have skipped through many instead of enjoying them .

VERDICT
-----------
I liked it, but I just wasn't a big fan of it. Seeing how high the ratings were, I was expecting a different thing. I guess it has to do with the fact that I needed a heavy-plot type of story but this was more of a slice of life-ish show, which is perfectly fine, don't get me wrong. I just wasn't feeling like 'oh my god, this episode was so exciting, I need to watch the next one right now!'. I was more like 'finished this episode, I'll see the next one tomorrow if I have time'. You get what I mean? It's weird.

Acting was great though, characters and the band itself were soooo wholesome! It's nice to take a break from dramas with too many shitty characters. Anyways, as I always say, I base my ratings on overall enjoyment. The show was not the best of the year but it was a comfortable and cozy watch.
