IU in this drama is the definition of Big-Dick-Energy!
This is probably the first time I decide to watch a k-drama because of the female lead instead of the guy ... IU is the girl crush you just can't avoid. And visually speaking every single second of this drama is magnificent!

a show this gorgeous had no right to be THIS boring

[spoiler] I was hoping this would be a new favorite and between the beautiful visuals, music, premise, and acting, it should have been a strong contender! The performances by IU and Bae Hae-seon were especially great. However, the story was a disappointment and did not have me invested, but instead was a chore to get through. The characters, and particularly the chemistry-less romance, fell flat for me. Some storylines were better than others, and I found Seo-hee's story the most compelling. I quite enjoyed the ending though; it's the type of ending I would expect for a show like this. And, of course the ending cameo from Kim Soo-hyun :') [/spoiler]

I'm sorry this didn't do it for me.
Not in the same league as Alchemy of souls.
I didn't get invested in any of the characters.
There was too little chemistry between Jang Man Wol and Goo Chan Seong. She was ok but he was boring and bland.
The story was interesting though, so it could have been a lot better.

oh boy , this was good , i don't really give 9/10 to many shows but this one deserves it , i just didn't like the captain plot line , i mean , they could have tried a bit better to make us like him more , but im glad they didn't lol , also wu could not even exist , i would be fine with that , anyways , all the woman in this drama are gorgeous , everyone is an incredible actor and the asthetics and music are just on point , great show to watch after the witches diner , ill miss it and will probably watch again in the future , oh i almost forgot , no kiss in the final ep ? are you trolling right ? right ????

Such a well crafted series overall but sadly, the last episode really didn't leave an impact.

Just finished watching it today and man this is the type of content i wish to rewatch. I found it amazing how such heartfelt stories were shared and serious issues were brought up. I don't know the actor who played Old Mago but she is a gem, playing so many diverse characters together! This show is a must must watch.

The female characters of the show are very good, especially the lead. The side stories are touching. I just feel that the main story wasn't quite delivered at the proper pace and emotional impact. It could be a better show, but wasn't.

This drama was the definition of bittersweet. The happiness was tinged with sadness, while the sad moments had a sweet, hopeful quality.

I loved the soft, romantic, dreamy feel during the emotional scenes, and the whole show was marvelously musicalized. The OST really added a considerable layer of emotion to each poignant scene.

The first half of the drama really dragged for me and I often found myself bored, but things really started moving and getting interesting once the show fully dove into the backstory of Man Weol's past. You'll reap the rewards if you're patient and stick it out during the boring episodes LOL.

My Second successful Korean re-watch . This is all for IU and after watching many shows this year; I have to say this is the best GHOST oriented K-Drama with sensible plot and backstory .

It isn't episodic and it isn't monotonous and perfect for re-watch and binge nights :)

One of the best Korean drama I’ve watched recently. IU is such a great actress and her wardrobe? Immaculate. Trust Korean stylist to do their job and more. Storyline is fresh and doesn’t focus on romanticising everything. Lighthearted when it needs to be, serious when it needs to be. Supporting characters are equally great and witty with their own backstories.

Best Movie of its kind!!!!

No definitive happy ending.

Just finished this drama and all I want to say is: if you're just going to start watching - don't expect a happy ending. The ending wasn't sad per se but it was a "maybe they will be happy sometime in the distant future" and that doesn't really work for me. If its the same for you then don't bother starting. There wasn't anything in this drama that you won't see elsewhere. It's not worth enduring the sad ending that they tried to dress up to ease the crappy feeling that you just spent about 20 hrs watching something the ended like this. I honestly was a little confused when they started the dressing up of the ending. I was wondering if its a happy ending or are they just thinking about each other.

Instead effort was put into introducing a new show. That should have no part in the ending. We just gave you so many hours of our lives. Instead of making it worth it you give us a maybe ending and start trying to take in future viewers. Why trust them to watch anything else if this ends this way.

Mostly an emotional drama that has stretched a bit too much and feels monotonous especially in the 2nd part of the season IMO but fantasy/horror elements are there to keep you going. Great acting from the lead actors, especially IU!
