These stories are somewhat interesting, but aren't compelling. The cases are pretty clear cut and not much is up for debate. I guess it may challenge your opinion on the death penalty itself by exposing the flaws of the system, not whether they are guilty or deserve the death penalty.

Unlike other shows in the genre, this series focuses less on guilt and more on the complex motivations and thoughts behind each killer's actions. What's particularly intriguing is that some of the convicted killers featured in the series maintain their innocence, making you question their guilt and the legal system's decision to convict them. The show's stories provide insight into the minds of these killers, their backgrounds, and their upbringings, adding a layer of depth to their actions that other true crime shows may overlook.

The first season was okay, but the cases were a little inconsistent in terms of how interesting they were. Season two has a much better rhythm to it and the cases are more consistent. A great series to watch if you're into true crime, are fascinated by the way people find ways to excuse the terrible things they do, and appalled by how the system can fail.

This is what I think after watching the first season, and I don't think my opinion will change much:

If you're expecting this to be compelling, it won't be.

These are the stories of death row inmates and some of them are interesting, a few of them may even make you angry because the criminals are full of BS, but not all them are like that. It's inconsistent, which is to be expected. It's also very cut-and-dried, not much to discuss, except how you feel about these cases and the death penalty.

Overall, it's a decent documentary series.

So far, I've watched 3 episodes. I don't quite understand how these guys wind up in prison. With the exception of one out of the three I saw, this could have been prevented if they'd just used their brain.
