Nando's: A PERi-PERi Big Success
Episode 4 - 7-05-2018
In 1992 a small takeaway chicken restaurant opened in Ealing, heralding the beginning of a revolution in the way we eat. Focusing mainly on the fast food trade the first Nando's almost sank without trance, until its owners took a gamble. They ditched the fast food model and created a whole new way of dining. Order at the counter and pay up front, but eat sitting down with a server bringing you your meal. This innovation, combined with grilled chicken and lashings of hot Peri-Peri sauce turned that single Nando's into an empire; with more than 400 restaurants in the UK alone.
