I applaud Sky for trying to make a better quality SCI series. I can see there has been money spent on both special effects and props/sets. However the storyline is weak. I love the classic Brit SCI series Blake 7. It was a real game changer and I still watch it today. This series could have borrowed elements from this is series and modernised/adapted it. There are some cast members in the show bring little to the story. Its not the actors fault! But more the lack of script/backstory. A leader that constantly threatens her crew, a crew member who just makes mistakes all the time (No humorous) and a drug addict alien that provides not much support for the rest of the crew. This can't work on any working ship in space or otherwise.

I wanted to like it. But making a SCI FI that has all this cutting edge tech and yet haven't gotten a way to neutralize a criminal on the run? Don't have a polygraph test so they could use it to determine culpability?
Unfortunately the storyline is really weak.

7.5/10 would have been more like it, but I don't mind the extra 0.5 given what they done with a SyFy-level budget. Though I usually have a hard time with stories where characters seem purposefully unlikeable, it eventually works here for most of them. Dr. Lee ends up being the least fleshed out one (though it's implied later on the _reason_ he acts the way he does), and Rebecca and Tula could've also been developed better to make the story more well-rounded, but since only Tula's lack of depth has a meaningful impact on the story, it's easier to look past it.

This improved as it went on, was it amazing? No. But it was OK for UK scifi. Will it get a second series? Probably, as they already filmed an extra 1.5 episodes before Covid stopped the filming. Will it get a third? Probably not...

This is a hodgepodge of characters thrown together and kind of forced to deal with each other. Similar to Dark Matter, Blake's 7, and other similar shows. I'm looking forward to season 2.

Although, I do agree with some of the other comments here - the characters are kind of all over the place - not well thought out. Every time they start gelling as a crew something blows them apart again.

How I rate:
1-3 :heart: = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6 :heart: = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8 :heart: = I expect you will like this too
9-10 :heart: = movies and TV shows I really love!

why do black women have to be portrayed as deranged, murderous women.
But also the blond. Why can't it just be a smart woman who is a criminal? No, they call that again in a series laughing and screaming like an idiot like the first village idiot

I've seen the whole series now and thought it was a good series. Also about the roles of the ladies. I should have watched beyond the first episode.

It's a shame that season 2 didn't come or that there was an open ending.
