Very few, if anyone who reads these reviews and shouts have ever even have heard of this show, much less seen a single episode or probably even heard of Gary Shandling. There aren't even very many people who remember or have seen Garry's other groundbreaking show "The Larry Sanders Show" or can even understand how much of it was based on the reality going on behind the late night giants David Letterman and Johnny Carson and the lessors such as Jay Leno, Arseno Hall, and Joan Rivers. This is a huge tragedy because Garry Shandling's influence and support for hundreds of young comedians and writer and has esoterically shaped the comedy world for over 30 years.

"It's Garry Shandling's Show" was one of the early offerings from the Brillstein-Gray super producers responsible for dozens of other of the most popular and iconic sitcoms of the 80's and 90's. Look them up on IMDB for a very long list of great shows they were responsible for bringing to television. "Seinfeld" fans will appreciate how this show laid the groundwork for a show, ostensibly about the life of a comedian but is, in reality a show about nothing. "Community" fans would especially appreciate the fact that THIS was the show that inspired Dan Harmon's conception of 'Meta' tv! There's not a single episode that's not breaking the 4th wall, referencing how ridiculous or contrived the plot is, or simply bucking established television conventions with an inside-out-and-backwards take on doing a show based on a guy and his friends.

You're going to have to hunt for copies of this show, but I highly recommend it for any aspiring writers, comedians, and content makers in general.
