Some scam baiter on YouTube was telling how Indian online scammers learn their trade from this movie. Only to find out it is not a movie. And it is released in 2020, so it's hard to tell how scams operating for a decade are inspired by a last year TV series. So much for the Western scammer.

Now the story could be interesting.

Only it is not. After the first episode it looks like another stupid love story from India: they are both virgins and both want to marry someone who would make them rich. And, probably, like all Indian love stories, it has a happy end when the story is cut somewhere between signing the marriage contract and the birth of the first offspring. And it is a drama when reality steps in and the two are the same two miserable losers they were before the movie started, none of them got rich, hence the story of betrayal of hope or something.

Anyway, the acting is over the top. The action is slow, a sign they signed with NetFlix for twice the episodes they could deliver. And the worst part: it's ridiculous. These scams require a call center and some software, not a kid with two of the cheapest smartphones he could find in his village. Sure, it could be done. But by the same measure, just because NASA did it in the 1970s, it does not mean three farmer boys would do it working under a kerosene lamp.
