An Encouraging Start to another multiple season worthy anime!

2023 has been extremely up and down when it comes to its Anime releases and Hell's Paradise definitely falls on the better side of that scale, as it jumps at you from the start with very well done animation and very interesting characters. As the Viewer we are kept in the dark on a lot of the backstory of most of the main characters while also being given just enough to keep us intrigued. Hell's Paradise is a very simple last man standing concept of sending hardened killers accompanied by a strong samurai to an island to battle royale their way to an elixir that will win their freedom. But, there is so much more to the island as well as the criminals then even the samurai are aware of. While I remained intrigued and engaged throughout the entire season I couldn't help but feel like there was no mountain of excitement at all, almost like we started at a peak and instead of going up or down we just remained at that same level of intrigue. I am definitely looking for some sort of culmination in season 2 that gets me fired up like anime's such as Demon Slayer and Attack on Titan are so good at. Although, I felt all the episodes were on a very close level I had episodes 4,6, & 7 as the season's weakest but still pretty solid, and the Finale was just a small step above the rest as it left us with more questions for season 2 that really got me thinking. Overall, Hell's Paradise was an exciting ride that feels like the beginning to a long standing anime.
