There was such a commitment here to stay accurate and without over rushing or falling to fallacies in history that it automatically should get an 8. But the actors and the efforts of each to stay true to form of their respective historical characters cannot be dismissed. What's amazing is that a man committed initially to compromise and then to uncompromise, and finally to only that which is decidedly best regardless of compromise, reflects each of us so plainly.

Add in the most historic of American love stories, a true love and regard for the counsel, the partnership, and the confidence and acceptance is in itself a great American story. The friendships and the division between friends also just so well portrayed.

I must say I lament the loss of letters. There's something so much more communicating about letters than a few seconds to respond via email, text, zoom, posts, comments, etc. Letters offer not just the exact words, but allow time to digest and respond thoughtfully and thoroughly without just knee jerk reactions. Perhaps that might be the biggest takeaway. Could Jefferson and Adams resolved their differences in a few tweets? Responding quickly to the travesty of having bad opinions written and published on purpose? Could that friendship have been rekindled today? I say no. The cruelty today is the same as then. But the level of everyone knowing everyone's responses? Reduces any and every possibility.

A must watch. A history assignment for Intro to Civics and/or the American Revolution. Sadly barred from States that would have no race or slavery mentioned. Sad times we live in. What would Jefferson or Adams say about the cowardice of our leadership today?
