My family are from Guyana and whenever I say to someone where I am from they always say "Oh that's where Jonestown happened", then I usually chuckle and go yeah.........not anymore.

I recently listened to the Scientology: Fair Game podcast with survivor Yulanda Williams and honestly I was so shocked by the events and I just needed to know more information. So I hopped onto BBC iPlayer and found this, honestly, this is a really well-made documentary but I can only watch it once due to how horrifying the events were but also the fact that they used real footage and audio of Jim Jones, The Peoples Temple and also Jonestown.

The fact that these events were real still blows my mind and honestly, this documentary shows both the history of Jim Jones and Jonestown but I can't stress enough that just be ready to see some really horrible things and hear some really horrible things and its different from watching a movie or a reenactment as it just hits different.

Definitely recommend it if you are interested in cults or Jonestown, but not recommended for the weak-stomached viewer.

It is unbelievably sad what happened in Jonestown. Jim Jones was pure evil.

this is my second or third show about the people's Temple and this one was the best by far, it spends more time on Jones's back story.
