I've never seen a show with more annoying characters in it. No one is likable, all of them are crazy and hateable.

@nightperseida I kind see your point, but I disagree with it when thinking about the protagonist, she is basically the personification of "the good person" in the story, she is basically a heroin... as far as I can remember of course, which scenes she annoyed you?

I stumbled across this little gem, probably because Netflix has bought the international streaming rights and were promoting it's release (29 June 2018), but I was able to watch the first season as broadcast on UK's Channel 4. What fascinated me was the way the film makers moved between the real and virtual worlds. Both the leads (Tallulah Haddon, Simona Brown) have such striking facial features that even in the live action they seemed to have a flawless animated quality. Dark themes akin to Dark Mirror. Excellent acting. Good writing (although there were some flawed logic jumps in episodes 5 and 6). This is quite an unusual thriller and I was giving each episode solid 7s (good) out of 10. If this series is renewed (no news yet but the finale set us up for another season) I will definite be rewatching it, which bumps up my rating to an 8 (great) for the series so far. (AN ASIDE - Beyond the presence of a reoccurring song in the sound track, I can't quite figure what the title has to do with the story). CAUTION: a fair amount of nudity. [SciFi Mystery/Triller]

This show is a phenomenon a solid 10/10. You see bad reviews about it and the reasons are really silly. It's either they dislike the characters or they complain about the fact that this show doesn't represent the novel.

Set these aside, the show seemed original to me and surprisingly enjoyable. The characters are not supermodels who can't act, on the contrary, they are normal looking people with impressive talent.

My advice, just give it a try, maybe try to watch few episodes and it will pull you in.

I liked the dark turn this seemingly "teenage" series took. However I was so disappointed and hurt by the raging queerbaiting that I had to stop.

1st - this show has nothing in common with the book, if that's a deal breaker for you. 2nd - queer baiting BIG TIME, which was super annoying for this #RealQueerRightHere. It could've been parallel to Black Mirror's "San Junipero" episode instead of the obsessive-feelings-flirty-stares-naked-slumber-parties hetero confusion that unfolded. 3rd - what exactly was the antagonist's motivation - to prey on emotionally vulnerable "damaged" gamers to encourage them to kill themselves, for quick entertainment? Because he himself was emotionally unavailable and had mommy issues? 4th - Only 6 episodes so you can get through this annoying show quickly.

I saw this on Netflix and decided to give it a watch. I didn't usually go for thrillers but the online gaming aspect intrigued me and it turned out to be quite entertaining. It's interesting both visually; the way it goes to and fro between reality and the VR game, and plotwise.

It was a nice show and definitely entertaining, but toward the final episodes things suddenly took a u-turn quiet fast and you couldn't make sense of it. Especially with Tess.

This show is a nice surprise, there is a nice "original" plot. The only criticism is the fact that the protagonist has a sudden "grow of balls" and starts acting more confident really suddenly, if you disregard it (and some other annoyances) this Series can be quite entertaining. The villain is quite interesting too, and makes you feel angry and hate him (it is not Jack The Handsome, but he is a "fueling rage" type of villain). The "victims" and their relations to each other and the villain make you tune too. There are some nice scenes in CGI (in the game). It is interesting and should make you less bored in an "I have nothing better to do" time.

It wasn't what I exptected. It's unique, definitely.
It reminded me of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, probably because it's quite odd.
It's a bit confusing at times but certainly intriguing.
If it does get a second season I can't wait to see what they do with it.

Weird ratings going around here. All of the episodes have more votes than the main page...

In any case, interesting journey, likable characters, doesn't drag on. Consider me amused.
