Can you say cliffhanger. #Netflix has to renew #Longmire for season 5. They can't leave us hanging like that.

I just finished this series on Netflix, and, although I was often put off about how improbable the police procedure was, I'm going to miss these characters. It has a murder-of-the-week format which stretches the credibility of a county surviving that rate of crime and attrition or of the ability of a 4 person sheriff's office to cover offenses both homicidal and mundane, but the characters are compelling and the acting is solid. The landscape is breathtaking, with New Mexico standing in for Wyoming (leading to some cultural anomalies) but there are those wide open space and rugged terrain that is incredibly beautiful. My final rating for this series is 7.9 out of 10 (better than good, but only a one-time watch). [Contemporary Western Crime Drama].

Great show! Shame it didn't got the attention it deserved.

Netflix renewed for season 5!!! Most Excellent!

Its western setting in a small county in Wyoming does not make it ideal for a procedural drama, and the number of murders that happens in Walt Longmire's jurisdiction makes it feel unrealistic at times, but it's still a breath of fresh air compared to all the other crime dramas out there. The serial plots definitely take the cake, and the characters and writing are strong enough to look past what few flaws this show has. Definitely one of my favorite shows of the decade.

Too bad this has been cancelled, esp. with that season finale... :/

Watching in 03.2021...
The first 6 or 7 episodes are pretty good. After that, it's obvious they are struggling to add much to the story going forward.. but holy crap, looking on Trakt, they've dragged this out for 6 seasons!??

I shouldn't be surprised though..like most American TV shows (The Dome/CSI/L&O/Prison Break/24 and on and on endlessly), anything from Disney and Hollywood - and let's not forget about all American professional sports - they just drag things waaay past the sell-by date.

Started Season 2.
Episode 1 was beyond stupid - this guy's been a Sherrif for how many years? Is it really possible someone can make this many stupid moves in a short period of time?
Episode 2 - eyes rolling - more stupidity and desperation for a plotline of any kind.

Started off at 7/10... turning into a 3/10 (it gets 3 for the scenery)

This show starts off strong, but really drops in quality after Season 3. Killing off Branch was a mistake.
