I was reluctant getting into this drama when I read "the CEO of a top gaming company" in the synopsis. It's like an instant turn off, this kind of setting can always guarantee an unpleasant experience which was somewhat true in this drama too. This aspect of it and anything related to that was its worst part for sure. They went for the superstitions concept for this drama but it ended up being underutilized, as expected. I found the resolution for almost every conflict and point of tension to be quite disappointing. Gary's father, Su Ho's father, the main leads issues, the FL's sister and her superstitions were all given a half-hearted resolution.

I tried to enjoy Lucky Romance. The characters were likable, the plot was entertaining (at-least initially) and reasonably paced, and the story was very quirky. I only had one problem with this drama and that was my dislike of Shim Bo Nui. I hate superstitions although i do tend mind some of them but not to extent i would believe every word of a shaman ; that's where the show leaves a bad taste ; 90% of the time she believes in the shaman [spoiler] especially when she managed to visit her sister and convinced until the accident ; this time not by fated white truck of doom but a black SUV she wanted to not believe in the fate and spirits [/spoiler].

I understand that dramas are meant to make the watchers emotional, but Shim Bo Nui is honestly one of the most annoying characters I have ever had the displeasure of watching. I found her to be very manipulative, selfish, and hypocritical. I was constantly infuriated by her selfish actions. She only thought about herself and would do things that would worry the people around her with any remorse.

I could not support her. I found her and her extreme superstitions annoying. She was constantly doing reckless things. [spoiler]For example, around the beginning of the series she would go around the office looking for a tiger while people were working. [/spoiler] Her constantly fooling around at work made me reject the characterization of her being hardworking. Her constant lies [spoiler] especially when she basically threatened Soo Ho into fake dating her [/spoiler] were alarming.

I know I'm looking too much into this, but I can't help it as I found myself only watching the show because I wanted to see if logic wins over superstitions and I have to say I am disappointed in the last 2 episodes as just for usual k-drama troupes they squander all character development of Bo Nui.

I would not recommend the show if you easily get peeved by idiotic plot holes like [spoiler] ransomware attack , truck of doom , watchmen and chicken Ahjussi [/spoiler]
