Marcella is shocked to the core of her being when her husband Jason leaves her unexpectedly, confessing he no longer loves her. Heartbroken, Marcella returns to the Met’s Murder Squad. Ten years ago Marcella gave up her fast-tracked police career to marry and devote her life to her family. With the abrupt end to her marriage and isolated from her 13 year old daughter and 10 year old son, Marcella throws herself into work to stop herself from falling apart.

I have to admit I may be being overly critical of this series. After watching Scott & Bailey, which so brilliantly captures the British meticulous and stringently regulated police procedure, and then watching Doctor Foster, which is such an intense thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat, this series felt sloppy, unbelievable and slow to get to its point. For another point of view, however my sisters highly recommended this, so I'll offer those varied viewpoint to you to make your viewing choice. I give Marcella a 6.5.

I watched the first episode and actually wasnt crazy about it. I'll watch a couple more episodes before giving up.

I don’t agree with what anyone says, this series kept me from wanting more and I couldn’t stop watching. The character irritated me in season 3 and it was much more slow paced. But overall I loved this series and I want another season

First season was the best. As someone else mentioned shows like The fall and The killing and The bridge (lots of "the"s I know) are much better. I dont regret watching marcella but it could have been so much better. If you're looking for a good detective show then the ones I mentioned are a better place to start

Like another version of The Fall, or The Bridge, or all the other crime dramas focussing on a single villain per season.
Just a lot less amazing and less well written. Anna Friel does a decent job, just as she did in American Odyssey but that series turned to garbage after half or two-third. Marcel More
