**Season 1:**
From the mind of Scott Ryan, who previously tried to bring this character to life himself in his own feature film 'The Magician'. He manages to produce this story of family-loving and confident hitman Ray Shoesmith, into a fantastic Aussie comedy-drama series. The story-telling, character arcs, and cinematography are all really well done here. Not to mention almost all the acting is on point, especially from Scott himself. I'm glad to see this Australian-made show get a lot of traction in the US. As it is rightfully deserved. Very funny, smart, and graphic, this show is a new favourite and is just the right length for a solid binge. I am very much looking forward to the second season next year.

**Season 2:**
The journey continues in this amazing and more emotional second season. Planned down to the smallest detail. It finds itself being the same level of quality as the first season. Fantastic writing is still the star of the show and I love every second of the dialogue. I'm very excited for Season 3.

**Season 3**
What an ending. Couldn't think of a better way to finish off this great series than what they did for Ray's character growth here. Superb stuff really. Still astonishing how much story they manage to fit into 20-30 minute episodes. Never ever felt like it left me unsatisfied. Sad to see it go, but happy to see it conclude.

Seasonal Rating:
**Season 1** - **9/10**
**Season 2** - **9/10**
**Season 3** - **9/10**

Overall Rating: **9/10**

Anti-Hero’s make for good television.

— The Dexter franchise was centered on a serial killer; who hid in plain sight and found his victims as an employee in Miami Metro Homicide.
— Breaking Bad followed an obscur high school chemistry professor thru the ranks of the international organized drug trade.
— On The Soprano’s, we learned that even Mob bosses deal with real world issues and have a human side.

Austrailia has entered the Anti-Hero the sweepstakes with an interesting three season series that recently finished it’s American Run on the FX Network.

Scott Ryan portray’s the central character of Ray Shoestring; a former convict and a current gangster who over the course of the series balances being a good dad to his daughter; a reliable friend to long term relationships and proves himself to be a contract killer for hire with limits and a consience.

This is a show that balances shoot’em ups, exhausting weekend daddy duty of a teenage girl and the responsibilities of being a care giver for a life long friend in the advanced stages of Multiple Sclerosious.

This series packs a lot of comedy and drama into each of it’s 30 minute episodes. I highly recommend it.
