it does not make any sense. manolo caro has good ideas but always ends up screwing them up

A peculiar little show I knew nothing about before stumbling into it on Netflix.
I liked its goofiness and how it mixes a fairytale with modern elements (kind of like how Baz Luhrmann or Persuasion do), but its "innovative" elements mostly fell short and felt out of place. The costumes, set design, the story, jokes, and even the musical inserts were amusing to me, but the extra adult content like pointless sex scenes and random swearing felt unnecessary. Don't get me wrong, I am normally all for sex scenes and swearing (lol), but here they were completely unnecessary and underwhelming. Should have sticked to the modern fairytale thing PG13 style (or something that's lower) OR up the ante and make it count - either way would have worked better.
The actor playing Diego/Maxi was also a weak choice. Floiran/Antonio however has a great voice, he definitely overshined (overshone?) the others in the musical parts.
I didn't regret watching this at all, but it could have benefited from some improvement - or, well, love!
