It’s actually based on a comic series. I have read a little bit of it and it’s not Stranger Things.

Started out good, then it got weird, then it got boring. I struggled to appreciate any of the sci-fi elements sinse they always came out of nowhere. No explanation as to why the hell there was [spoiler] giant robots [/spoiler] in one episode and then [spoiler] dinosaurs [/spoiler] couple episodes later. For a time travel show they kept the time travel very basic. The whole season was about finding out what your future self is up to and what job they have. That's interesting but it gets boring after a few episodes.

Only things it has in common with *Stranger Things* is kids riding on bikes and the pink lighting resembles the red one in the Upside Down.

I believe the dates are wrong. I think it is July 29th

Good show, In some ways feels more realistic and grounded than Stranger Things, from what I've read the original comic was released before Stranger Things so the comparisons should be the other way round....

But I will say I've never disliked main characters more than the ones in this show... Each girl is annoyingly sarcastic as the next and feel's like they all take pleasure in belittling each other or being snarky for snarky's sake.

Other than that it's very bingeable.

The might as well have been 30 minutes of a lazy Amazon executive stamping his feet a whining “I want some Stranger Things money! Me, me, me! It’s not fair!”. Embarrassing.

ahhhhh, i really enjoyed this, BUT THEY CANCELLED IT. Fucking hell.

Also kinda sick of old dudes calling every teenage girl character annoying every chance they get. Come on. You don't know shit, question yourself why you feel that way okay?

Honestly, just skip this and read the comic series.

This was a GREAT show!! Why do idiots run streaming services?

This show is interesting, engaging, unique, different, imaginative, and yet the powers-that-be decide to cancel it. They could have gotten 2-3 more years out of it easily.

**Notice to all Network, Cable and Streaming Service Programming Directors:**
If you can not commit to 2 to 3 seasons for a brand new show from day one, then please DO NOT even waste your time and money creating the first season.

Every crazy thing in the world happened all on the same day! (Only watched the first episode.)

Entertaining and engrossing sci fi mystery show with a dash of cosmic horror. The first episode starts off strong and mysterious with all these characters' drama that doesn't get tiring and the story that doesn’t lose focus for a moment.

Really enjoyed this show. Interesting concept of being time travelers between different years and meeting yourselves along with trying to get back. Who wouldn't love to do that?? lol. This is definitely not Stranger Things...not even close. More drama based.

Missed potential. It is way less interesting than the comic and they completely altered the plot after the first episode. It might as well be an entirely different IP. Amazon clearly did not give this show the budget it deserved.

This show is amazing. It starts off with a sci-fi premise but soon delves into a look a difference between dreams of the future and how Thise dreams are altered by the reality of life. As the titular paper girls are thrust into the future, they see things aren't as they expected. I especially like that the adults in the show aren't portrayed in a cartoonish way, as each show understanding and compassion seeing at their younger selves.

The best parts of the show is when the main characters are caught up in an adult problem and tackle them with 12 year old solutions. That means no BS, a headstrong attitude, and chaos.

Like I said, amazing.

Time Travel is hard to write a good story line.
First thing is, that if you travel 20 years in the future, you can't meet your future self because you would not be there for the last 20 years and people would think you were missing for the last 20 years.
Also, you can't come back from the future and tell someone 'Don't do this' and the person agrees with you not to 'Do it' because if they did, you would not have come back to tell them NOT to do it. ( if this makes sense :)

The reason why I know all this is, that I was Paper Boy many many years ago, and the same thing happened to me. It was not pretty lol
Anyway, a fun story to watch, don't take it too seriously.

Great surprise. It's hard not to think of Stranger Things but I actually enjoyed Paper Girls better. I always felt always Stranger Things always became messy after a couple of episodes. No such things here, it's well written and focused.
Highly recommended.

The sound track is on point.

Honestly I'm just baffled by the things they choose to change from the comic, like giving the period side plot to Erin rather than KJ, or removing Erins good sibling relationship and giving it to Mac instead?? Also making Tiffs bf not goth booo
Feels a lot more 'loosely based' rather than an 'adaption'

Wokeness wins again to give us a crippled story with terrible actors, which likely could have been exceptional.

Doesn’t feel as well paced and fun as source material.
From episode 2 to the penultimate episode it feels a bit like the girls are falling out all the time before we even know them well.
The end of season “cliffhanger” is not very well done and just leaves it a bit confusing.
Hope it gets renewed as still watchable but at its best when following main story and time travelling.

two episodes in and it looks like this belongs in Nickelodeon. Too childish, the spacepeople look that they came from a cheesy 80s b-movie

Contrary to the visual of 4 girls on bikes in the 80s, this is not a STRANGER THINGS knockoff. Even though the protagonists are 12 years old (played by 15 year olds) this is not a kids show, the language alone is child inappropriate. What this is, however, is a pretty well conceived spin on a well travelled SciFi theme. Although it is based on a mystery/science graphic novel series, written by Brian K. Vaughan and illustrated by Cliff Chiang, where the comic was more an action adventure, the movie is more relational drama, thanks to the chemistry between the four fine actors who inhabit the main characters. It speaks a lot to who we are, our hopes and dreams for ourselves and our futures. That’s not to say there isn’t a persistent thriller vibe and a real obstacle to overcome. Loved the characters and their performances. Loved the story arc. Loved the poignant moments. I give this series an 8 (endearingly novel) out of 10. [SciFi Mystery Drama]

Decent show when not comparing to anything. Good for few hours if brainless entertainment. However the writers decided to make all the characters super idiotic & stupid. Did amazon outsource the writing to some kid labor camp in China?

We have no explanations at the end and we probably won't,i don't know if I will watch another season of it..
Beside you know the series is doomed when it gets a very bad CGyI,its like the studio doesn't believe in it so how will we?! Meh.

Got to give props when due, no way they could come close to the comic but they gave a valiant effort. Still I enjoyed this looking forward to the next if they don’t cancel it

I think my specialty is watching shows that end up being cancelled after the first season lol. Ofc i got super attached to the characters and i will now suffer!! I suppose the intention of this show was centered around representation and also dealing with trauma and coming of age exc exc so i would say that it didn’t really leave the room for a great plot.
I’ll probably read the comic soon so we’ll see.
Also brb going to watch the wilds and get attached to new characters i will never see again after 1 season byee
