Very very sanitized version of the Pistols.. and Rotten is missing his odd glare.. that little crazy sparkle he had in the way he'd stare at someone.

Kinda disappointed in the lack of grit.. Even Skins was grittier than this.

Been looking forward to watching this. Even though Rotten wasn't involved this should be a good laugh.

I have no idea why the critics were silent and negative about this, this wasn't half bad! Danny Boyle took what could've been a Bohemian Rhapsody/Rocketman cliche biopic script and did some creative stuff visually (for example the aspect ratio it's in). It's a very entertaining series that does gloss over some things here and there but luckily Danny Boyle's direction and the cast of talented newcomers make up for Craig Pearce's run-of-the-mill script. Anson Boon is amazing here! He was snubbed for some Emmy consideration. I also loved the others with the standouts being Sydney Chandler and Maisie Williams. Anyways, very underrated and I think its Danny Boyle's best work in a while.

There is a certain caricature in the representation of the Sex Pistols, but there is also authenticity in the musical scenes, and in the vision of a rebellious and anarchic generation. With better portraits in some cases than in others, Danny Boyle better reflects the nightmare reverie when the band begins its path to success than the overwhelming youth of its components. And there are heartbreaking episodes like the one dedicated to Pauline, which inspired the song "Bodies."

@kingy72 : and I think THAT is exactly what it is..."a good laugh"!!! The series is imho great to introduce the sensational Sex Pistols to some Disney channel kiddies aka "a New Generation of Fans". Of course you have to be careful when it comes to facts and the parallels to certain events. But all in all a nice easy-watching biopic with the original music (!!!) and that is more important than minor change to make the narrative "work" in my eyes.
watch anything that Julian Temple made about the Pistols, be it "swindle" or "filth and the fury"... or just put on this one oh so important album cause I am sure (1) that you have it somewhere in your place/in your life and (2) you have not listened to it in years  Do it, have fun!

@telemoliere was listening to the great rock n roll swindle last night, what a blast. Still brings a big smile to my face, and I can remember listening to it for the first time as a ten year old with my mates in school as if it was yesterday. Happy days.
