Theorizing that one could time travel within his own lifetime, Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished... He woke to find himself trapped in the past, facing mirror images that were not his own and driven by an unknown force to change history for the better. His only guide on this journey is Al, an observer from his own time, who appears in the form of a hologram that only Sam can see and hear. And so Dr. Beckett finds himself leaping from life to life, striving to put right what once went wrong and hoping each time that his next leap will be the leap home.

One of my favorite shows from the 90's. And since there are numerous remakes being developed, may I pitch one more ~ Quantum Leap How cool would that be knowing what we know now?!

The series explores a variety of historical and social issues, while also incorporating humor, drama, and action in equal measure. The show's high concept premise and unique storytelling approach has been praised for its strong writing, engaging characters, and memorable episodes. However the show can be formulaic at times, and that it occasionally relies too heavily on nostalgia and sentimentality. Nonetheless, "Quantum Leap" remains a beloved and influential series in the science fiction genre, and is definitely worth checking out for anyone interested in time travel, alternate history, or just great storytelling.
