The episodes are rated a little lower than I expected on here (tho the show sits at a 84% rating at the moment).

I thought it was quite contemplative, very calm and not one of those "in your face" crime dramas, though that might have bored some people. There's something so fascinating about the mundanity of evil, while people think of Darth Vader when they think of 'evil', the real evil is much more grounded and probably lives next door to you, which is what I though Rillington Place was all about.

Tim Roth gives the UK Performance of the Year, it's very creepy how well does he play that character; it's worth the watch just to see him play Reg Christie. Samantha Morton wasn't half bad either, her performance is very subtle and plays the role of Ethel very effectively.

There's a little ambiguity in the motives behind some of what happened, which I thought was quite excellent to give the viewer the freedom to come up with his own conclusions instead of making stuff up to make the events depicted in the show make more sense.

All in all it's a cracking show, and quite the late addition to this year's Best of 2016 lists.
