"Showtime Cancels Roadies

The Cameron Crowe dramedy will not return for Season 2.

It's one and done for Roadies. Showtime has cancelled the freshman summer series after its first season. Following an eclectic road crew who work on a rock band's major tour, the hour-long dramatic comedy premiered in June for a 10-episode run that ended in late August.

Created by Cameron Crowe, the series marked the famed writer-director's first foray into television. Reception by both audiences and critics, however, was decidedly mixed, resulting in lackluster ratings that fell short of expectations.

Roadies' cancellation is the third music-related series casualty this summer. HBO's Vinyl and FX's Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll were both recently axed after failing to catch on with viewers."
