The ultimate 90s nickelodeon nostalgia show.

I watched this show religiously as a kid and loved it. I watched the whole thing as an adult and can vouch that it holds up.

I remember reading on an internet forum that for many kids that grew up with dysfunctional families, in poverty, and other hardships, Rugrats was their escape. Even though their lives were not ideal, they got to experience the joys of a happy, imaginative, adventurous early childhood with loving parents by watching this show. Indeed, Rugrats encapsulates the feel-good simplistic nostalgia of being a child in the 1990s, an era in which innocent playfulness was celebrated.

As an adult viewer, the show was familiar but different. The nostalgia kept me going, but I was surprised to find so many jokes, dialogues, and plot lines that centered around adult things that most kids probably wouldn't fully appreciate. In this way, it felt as if the show was designed for two different audiences concurrently. But it works so well!

Rugrats will always hold a special place in my heart!
