Russian Doll is rife with well-written humor that belies astute observations about the human approach to life, and both intrapersonal and interpersonal relationships. Natasha Lyonne perfectly portrays a sardonic New Yorker in the midst of an inexplicable, existential time-loop. Each episode merits your full attention as a quick gance at your phone will find you missing tiny, but important details. I'm 5 episodes in and still without answers, but with plenty to chew on.

Plot aside, the show is beautiful. The multi-colored lighting, deep reds and blues... the near-perfect score. The great care and detail-oriented focus that went into making Russian Doll are apparent throughout. Great actors on top of it all. It's hard to find anything bad to say. Even the short episodes make for a well paced story.

Edit: Just finished the show, and all I can do is marvel at the wonderful finale... This show was unshakable, "narratively" and visually. That parade scene was just next level... and what flawless jumping between past, present, future, etc.

I can't help but feel that I'm missing out on several references and cultural symbols. Still, even without all the pieces of the puzzle, I'm amazed. So worth a watch and then a rewatch.
