I was expecting a typical “smart, talented kid from the hood defies the odds…” story and was gladly disappointed. This was fantastic. Great story telling, strong character development and good sub-plots. I thought they they did a very good job bringing in the pandemic and BLM, some of those scenes were hard to watch and almost surreal that those events probably happen daily. The acting got better as it rolled along and the bball shots throughout was unreal. Fell down a little the last couple episodes as they gave away some obvious clues how it was going to end up. Still though, I hope they renew for season 2. Now I’ll go see how many of Kevin Durant’s real life stories made it in!

It was beginning well enough and I was hopeful. But after six episodes, I'm done. The stories and characters are just too boring and uninteresting for me. Production quality and actors are good, but compared to the somewhat similar "Survivors Remorse", this is worse in every way possible.

This was a solid binge! I didn't know anything about it, just decided to watch it and I'm happy with it! Definitely relatable to anyone growing up in that type of environment. I would definitely watch a second season!

It drifts towards the adolescent drama, although it has notable achievements in the way of shooting basketball games. The presence of Alex Hall, editor of "The wire" (HBO, 2003-2008) and other David Simon's shows, as director of some episodes brings echoes of the city of Baltimore. Beyond a series on youth basketball leagues, it talks about American youth, racism, abuse and social injustice caused by the covid. And in this sense it is one of the best teen dramas of the year.
