Dianne Rattlesnake
Episode 7 - 11-16-2019
Wilma Ann Hanska pled guilty to manslaughter after taking the life of her husband with whom she had an abusive relationship and spent four years in prison. She started a new life in Brandon and went by the name Diana Rattlesnake following her release but continued to live through abusive relationships. On October 28, 2004, at the age of 48, Diana was found deceased in a Brandon, Manitoba rooming house.

Silvia Guiboche

The mother of a one-year-old girl and pregnant at the time of her disappearance, Sylvia may have been in an abusive relationship when she moved to Winnipeg. Five months later she disappeared. It is believed that two people who were known to Sylvia came to her apartment on Furby Street the last evening she was last known to be seen in July 2003. Sylvia has not been heard from since.

William Wapoose
Episode 5 - 11-06-2019
In September 2014, William Wapoose was found dead in Chapples Park, on the south end of Chapples Drive, discovered by a cyclist. Police immediately confirmed that the father of two daughters' death was a homicide and that he was the victim of foul play. In June of 2019, two men were arrested in William’s death, but the trials are pending, and justice has yet to be served.

April Carpenter was last seen April 26, 2018 at the Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg. Her body was pulled from the Red River on May 16, 2018. Her family believes someone knows something.

Annie Pootoogook
Episode 3 - 10-26-2019
Annie Pootogook was a renowned Inuit artist from Cape Dorset, Nunavut whose body was found in the Rideau River near Bordeleau Park in Ottawa on September 19, 2016. Annie's death was treated as suspicious, but not enough evidence was found to build a case that has led to justice. Annie’s loved ones responded when an Ottawa Police officer made racist social media comments connected to Annie’s story.

Colten Pratt
Episode 2 - 10-19-2019
Colten Pratt, 26-years-old, moved from his community Long Plain First Nation to pursue a career in media and music in the city of Winnipeg. Colten was achieving success when he was last seen on November 6, 2014 at the Marlborough Hotel, then at a bus shelter on Main Street and Redwood Avenue in Winnipeg. Colten is Two-Spirited, and his family continues to search, and to honour Colten at Pride events.

Little is known about the case of a missing family from Prince George, British Columbia since August 1989. 26-year-old couple Doreen and Ronald Jack received an offer of employment from an unknown man in a pub, immediately packed up their belongings and their children, 9-year-old Russell, and 4-yearold Ryan. The family followed the unknown man to a remote camp…never to be seen again.

Caitlin Potts
Episode 8 - 11-16-2018
The day before her disappearance, 27-year-old Caitlin Potts was last seen at Orchard Park Mall in Kelowna, British Columbia. Caitlin last had contact with her loved ones when she sent her sister Codi a message on Facebook on February 22, 2016. On March 1, 2016, a missing persons report was made to the RCMP. No official missing persons alert appeared on the RCMP’s website until March 21, 2016. Caitlin’s disappearance is being treated as a homicide. Sadly, two other young women are missing from this region. Could there be a connection?

Nicole Daniels

On April 1, 2009, 16-year-old Nicole Daniels was found frozen to death behind a rental car agency in Winnipeg. When the autopsy report came back, Nicole’s family was shocked to find that no foul play was suspected. The cause of death was hypothermia, with acute alcohol intoxication as a significant contributing factor. However, Nicole’s family remembers her getting into a vehicle with an older man who they suspect Nicole met in a phone chat room. They believe that her death was not an accident.

Amanda Cook

14-year-old Amanda Cook went with her dad and brothers to the Rossburn Fair Festival on July 13, 1996, near her home in Waywayseecappo. The last time Amanda's dad saw his little girl was 6:30 or 7:00 that evening. Four days later, Amanda's lifeless body was found, beaten to death. Amanda's life was taken over twenty years ago and even though one man stood trial three times for her murder, her case has never been solved.

Janet Sylvestre
Episode 5 - 10-26-2018
On October 13, 1994, the body of 38-year-old Janet Sylvestre was discovered in a wooded area, just outside of Saskatoon. Evidence at the scene indicated she was the victim of homicide. Janet's case remains unsolved. Janet Sylvestre was from the Dene nation and grew up in northern Saskatchewan, but as an adult spread her wings and moved to cities like Edmonton, Toronto, and then Saskatoon, but she was known to return home to La Loche to visit her family. Before she was murdered, Janet was last seen in Saskatoon, where her nickname was “Smiley" because Janet was always smiling.

Leona Brule
Episode 4 - 10-19-2018
Leona Brule was just 18 years old when she went to visit her boyfriend in Edmonton, Alberta, from Fort Providence, Northwest Territories, where she had been working as a live-in-nanny. It was March 1989…and about a year later when Leona stopped coming home to visit her mother, Leona’s mom filed a police report. RCMP suspects that Leona was living on the streets in Edmonton in the 1990s, but Leona has never been found, and her case remains open.

Crystal Andrews and Leah Anderson
Episode 3 - 10-12-2018
Crystal Andrews was from God’s Lake, Manitoba, a fly-in community 550 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg. Crystal went to a social on November 7, 2015, and her fiancé and two children waited for her to return home. She never made it. Her body was found November 9, 2015 in an isolated location in God’s Lake. She was 23 years old. Crystal’s death has been declared suspicious by RCMP, but no arrests have been made. January 6, 2013, 15-year-old Leah Anderson’s body was found, also under suspicious circumstances.

Patricia Carpenter
Episode 2 - 10-05-2018
Patricia (Trish) Carpenter, a 14-year-old mother of a two-month-old boy, was found dead at a Toronto construction site on Sept. 25, 1992. The coroner’s investigative statement says Carpenter’s body was “wedged very tightly, head-first, into a pit…” and that she died of asphyxiation. The case was quickly wrapped up, with no evidence of foul play reported. However, the coroner eventually deemed it necessary to have an inquest into Patricia’s death.

Amber Tuccaro was 20 years old, and the mother of a 14-month old boy when she travelled with her baby and a female friend from Fort McMurray to Nisku, Alberta with the plan of heading to Edmonton the next day, August 18, 2010. When she left her friend and son, Amber decided to hitchhike into the city, and was picked up by an unknown man. There was a conversation with this man that was recorded - it was the last time Amber’s voice was heard.

On July 11, 2007, 44-year-old Jacqueline Crazybull was stabbed by a group of men in an attack that seemed to be random. That same night, four other men and women of different ages and ethnicities were stabbed by the same group of men in separate incidents. They recovered from their injuries. Jacqueline did not.

Over the course of many years, the number of missing and murdered women and girls in British Columbia has grown, just as it has throughout Canada. 22-year-old Tamara Lynn Chipman was last seen near Prince Rupert on September 21, 2005. Belinda Williams was seen for the last time in British Columbia in 1977.

When she and her sister were separated and Delaine went missing, her family embarked on a search that involved the entire community. Throughout her short life, Angela Meyer wrestled with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia — with the help of her close family. However, both Angela and her family began to feel the strain of her deteriorating mental health. They were frustrated with the lack of resources available to them in the Northwest Territories. On November 27, 2010, Angela was at home on a weekend pass from the local hospital when she disappeared from the front steps of her parents’ home.

Tanya Brooks
Episode 8 - 10-28-2016
On Mother's Day, May 10, 2009, Tanya Brooks had final telephone conversations with her family. It would be the last time they would ever speak with her again. A mother of five, Tanya was 36 years old at the time of her murder. She was seen later that evening walking on Gottingen Street in north Halifax, before being found in a school window well the next day. Each year a memorial march gains momentum, strengthening the collective objective to find her murderer.

Tanya Nepinak's disappearance and presumed murder is one of many in a long series of unsolved violent deaths in her family. Tanya's children have been deeply affected, and many of those who love her have become advocates for the MMIWG. A serial killer's confession failed to solve the case of Tanya's murder, as did a search of a Winnipeg landfill. Violence continues to plague the family to this day.

Claudette Osborne-Tyo was 21-years-old when she was last seen in Winnipeg in 2008. The mother of four children, Claudette was abused as a child, and struggled with drug addiction. But her family loved her very much, and have become some of the most powerful advocates and leaders in the support of MMIWG.

Emily Osmond was 78 years old when she was last seen by her nephew on her property on the outskirts of Kawacatoose First Nation, Saskatchewan, in September, 2007. Her family believes she was taken, because Emily's beloved dogs were abandoned, and she told no-one she was leaving. This peaceful woman vanished without a trace.
