Circumstances condemn Oh Soo and Oh Young to loveless lives. After the untimely death of his first love, Oh Soo turns to an ambitionless life as a derelict gambler. Too much drama going on for me to enjoy this properly. Seems like everyone is lying/has a secret, Oh-Soo, Young, Moo-Chul, Secretary Wang, even the secondary characters. My friend said this drama is very sad but I found it hard to empathize with the characters. The story is depressing, and they were having the same problems over and over again, making it boring. The final episode is an example of lazy writing. Strong performances from both Jo In-Sung and Song Hye-kyo can't help the bad plot.

I absolutely adored these two together. They are both tough and broken and needy. Equals on every level except perhaps background which matters more to Koreans and less to me. The actors really made this show though I loved the story of them falling for each other as brother and sister first. She wouldn't have allowed anyone closer any other way - she'd been hurt too many times before. It was a touch slow and draggy in places. The time jump was irritating.

This is a love story between two broken people who have abandonment / trust issues and trying to find a reason to stay alive.

The main cast was good ; great chemistry. The second cast were not that great ; their actions irritated me at time ; especially Jin-Sung an idiotic hot-head.
