Unbelievable! This is so well made and acted.... a must see, and afterwards watch the HBO documentary....

I really had no interest in this story line. I am a huge fan or Patricia Arquette, but this girl that plays Gypsy Rose, (Joey King) Wow can she act.
I was thoroughly impressed with how well written and well told this whole story was. I totally recommend this show!!

What a roller coaster! As someone who has been very investigative in this story I am very impressed how they put this together. At some times I was asking myself "Why am I watching this?" As if this actually was real footage from real events. The actors are amazing at what they are doing. Also I cam understand how Gypsy can disagree on this series. I had a wonderful time watching this.

Patricia is outstanding as the demented mother. Hard to watch.

Completely disturbing. Obviously a true story cause there’s not a fiction writer with a mind so broken that they’d imagine something as awful as this.

Series based on real cases, in a rugged and twisted real case, the authentic Gypsy is in a way against the series.

However, the fact that it is a very well structured and very well organized series must be recognized.

It has a cast that works very well, some good sets and costumes and a beautiful photograph, the series is not heavy.

It is a short miniseries that goes to the heart of the matter, tells what happened in a very human and crude way.

It is a recommended series to watch.

The show itself is beautiful, great sets, performances, costume design and decent soundtrack. The subject matter is incredibly difficult, but was handled well. It forces you to empathise with each character, instead of simply demonising everyone. I'm unsure how much was fiction than based on reality, however. [spoiler]It raises the question, as to why only Gypsy got a lighter sentence when compared to Nick. Nick was arguably even more mentally deficient, and more susceptible to doing as was asked for him. He was not subject to abuse from his parents, but he had less capacity to think for himself when compared to Gypsy, who had to essentially hold his hand the whole time. Nick couldn't even remember to get her food without a list, he would not have done what he did without her.[/spoiler]

This slow-burning show kept me invested throughout its run. The safety and danger of the mother in this show is so interesting and somewhat scary that it's unsettling at some points.
