Very nicely done. many actors were quite good, and a couple so so. Isobel Jones was a perfect sadistic antagonist, for example, but Roisin Murphy should stick to singing and songwriting.
The story was interesting, if occasionally predictable, and the characters mostly believable. Not bad for tv. I'd watch another season

So endlessly tired of netflix vacuuming up awesome source material, flake out on a cliffhanger and then get all prissy when they don’t get three million views in a week and decide it’s not profitable to make another season. THEN STOP MAKING THOSE ENDINGS. I fucking loved this and would have gladly watched another two seasons.

So I went into this with not many expectations, and every episode sucked me in deeper.
Every time a series has 3 main characters, I often only get really interested in one of them, sometimes 2 if it's a longer running series. But this series has me interested in all three of the main characters by the end of season 1. Great job and can't wait for more of this!

The story is great and the actors did a good job. However, one could tell that they had a low budget. CGI was subpar and fight scenes were underwhelming considering the powers they had.

I think this is one of those instances where it wasn't the show it was me. When I was younger I would have lived for a show like this but at my current age I found it overwhelmingly juvenile for the subject matter. I struggled to connect with the characters and the only character name I could tell you is Nathan. And I think the friend was called Analise? Anyway this was filmed in a good way and used different interesting shots but these 8 episodes struggled to grab my attention apart from a few scenes and the last episode was decent but set up for a second season that isn't ever going to happen due to the show being cancelled so I'm a tad bit disappointed.

Seems a CW Twilight offering. There's a lot to like and I think that most people that are drawn to this will likely enjoy it. Just don't spend too much time thinking real hard and just enjoy the ride.

If you are looking for something that's cleverly written and meticulously thought through, you will most likely be disappointed.

I really wanted to like this, and while it's very watchable, there's just too many things better out there to only feel ho-hum about it. Stopped after two episodes.

Why does Netflix keep doing these 'one and done' shows? This is a book trilogy. The audience was there. The critics were largely favourable. It's got to be some kind of tax dodge, right?

That said, Paul Ready was a revelation, he's normally cast as mousy bumblers not psychotic rage killers...

I expected something a lot better than what I got. The plot was kind of boring and unnecessarily violent; this was basically nothing but trauma-porn. The main character gets constantly abused in one way or another, and that’s all there is to it. The characters also lack depth, and every relationship is random and shallow. This was simply not worth the watch for me… I was mostly bored.

Was all set to give this a rewatch today, but then I find out that Netflix canceled it, "despite positive reviews" (Denise Petski, at Deadline).
What a bummer. It had its flaws, but I found the characters and universe interesting.

a bland attempt to a sorcery, bad ass magic World, there are a good things ruined by romance, bi- sx main character, Who cares about sx life, Just do action, magic, instead a romance clichés. The main character is bad, the series rely in the villains, I hope they kill the main character in s2, it is more interesting her sister.

This was surprisingly good. The adaptation from the book HALF BAD, was well written, with both wit and gravitas. The suspense was constant. The performances were fully conceived and the young cast, who were all new to me, never missed a beat. Unfortunately, despite favourable response by both critics and audience, Netflix will not be renewing it. It does, however, fare well as a stand alone piece. The season arc has a conclusion. I give this series an 8 (really well done) out of 10. [Fantasy Adventure]
