Jared Harris and John Lithgow are amazing in their roles. And the high production budget (highest ever for Netflix) really shows. All the scenes look fantastic.

And it got Hans Zimmer doing the music. That should speak for itself.

I had the privilege of seeing the first two episodes at an advance screening event in Australia and have to say they are truly excellent. The writing, acting and direction are sublime and it, appropriately, looks like a million bucks (pounds?). There is just the right amount of humour and I was surprisingly moved by the story due to the stellar performances from the entire cast.

I was really impressed with Matt Smith in this role. The entire cast was remarkable, but his performance was especially noteworthy. John Lithgow as Winston Churchill seemed strange at first, but really worked and was just as impressive. Claire Foy was lovely to watch and really came to inhabit the role of Elizabeth II.
I'm excited to see how the rest of series plays out, especially if its projected to have 60 episodes depicting Elizabeth's life all the way up to the present day.

There is no doubt that the most beautiful episodes are those in which the main characters are Matt Smith, Jared Harris and John Lithgow. God save all of them but the Queen. I'm sorry but Claire Foy is not up to that role

With a title like "The Crown" it sounds boring. However it's quite the opposite and offers good insight into the background of the early days of the current royal family and the Queen.

Seasons 1 to 4 were superb, season 5 is a yawn fest. An amazing exercise into boredom. Pity, such a good series reduced to this .

Claire Foy is the best Queen of them all, and 'The Crown' is the best series on TV right now! Addictive and full of breathtaking talent.

Soooo... I realise that I'm sort of sticking out like a sore thumb here - but am I really the only one who finds the characters very, very hard to like? Maybe it's too early to judge, I'm only three episodes in, but so far pretty much everyone seem to be cold, selfish and prone to intriguing. Yes, I do realise that times were very different back in those times, but still. It doesn't really matter how excellent the actors are and how historically interesting everything ought to be, I still find myself drifting off in other thoughts while watching and let's face it; that is not exactly good grades.
We'll see. I'll make a small break and watch something else for now, I might return and change my mind completely. Fingers crossed, because I really WANT to like The Crown!

Another superb season of THE CROWN - superb acting, drama and production. A really well writtten docudrama featuring the highs and low of our Queen's reign amid the sweep of world history. Must watch TV, available on Netflix. Unsurprisingly, I give it a 10 (superb) out of 10. [Fictionalized Historical Drama]
