Definitely one of Sono’s lesser works, but at least it’s not as terrible as “Tokyo Vampire Hotel”. Murata’s character offers some truly hilarious gags, but other than that it’s the tired reiteration of stuff that we have already seen countless times in Sono’s previous movies. Excess and gore became pure routine.
Stay away from the 4 hour “Deep Cut”, it’s just a watered-down version of the theatrical cut with nothing new worth remembering.

There is something really beautiful about this series, very poetic, yet disturbing, and funny.
