Much better than I expected, I know it's listed as a drama it's also a really good tongue in cheek comedy. Well worth the watch. 8 out of 10

Such an amazing show. Not sure why all the negative reviews. Maybe they are haters. Anyway just ignore the haters & watch the show. Great acting. Kind of slow start but really sucks you in. Musical score is nice. Some good funny dialogs. Definitely binge worthy.

This show is brilliant in every aspect.... Directing, acting and casting. It has a distinct beat which you have to be into. The fast crazy funny, loud, banter is what sets it apart. It kind of reminds me of Deadwood without the shakespeare script.

Impressed by how this walks a tonally tricky line between grim drama, pulpy western, and goofy self-aware comedy, and mostly pulls it off. I also hope this isn't flying too under the radar come TV awards season because Ethan Hawkes as abolitionist John Brown is pretty tremendous here.

Really well done and interesting, and a great look back at that era just before the Civil War. Ethan Hawke was a force as John Brown.
