Monologue is ok and side stuff is similar to what he did with his old show which was great, solid interviews which are normally lacking in other late night shows like The Tonight Show where they just pander to the guest and don't add anything to the conversation other than prescript-ed answers.
All in all good show and here's hoping Colbert can keep this going for many years.

Not only does this provide the most laughs out of any other show for my wife and I, but it covers current events and politics so succinctly that its the only TV news we watch (all else is read on Apple News). It's our favorite show, and one we look forward to watching together even more than 24: Legacy, Sense8, Seinfeld, or Designated Survivor! It's even better than SNL's Trump/Political Skits.

It's easiest just to catch it on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMtFAi84ehTSYSE9XoHefig) on weekdays around 8:30pm PST (or more often, anytime the next day), which makes it easy to skip over most of the interviews and musical performances and just get the comedic news, animations, and political satire.
Colbert is the only positive thing to come out of having Trump for president and the only thing that makes it just this side of bearable.

I enjoyed him hosting, I am a fan from The Colbert Report though. I just don't think the show is for you. I see you like Real Time With Bill Maher, I'd put Colbert much higher than Bill, even though I watch both.

I don't see much comedy in your history either, maybe try some more.

The show indeed isnt for me. Colbert has alot of smart jokes and is sharp during interviews i give him that. However his long monologues and the lack of comedic interaction with the audience/viewers during the stand-up comedy parts ruin the show for me. Also during interviews with people who have nothing interesting to say, or are shy or are just plain stupid, he doesnt deliver (and the late show will have plenty of those.) Maybe i shouldnt compare him with Letterman's NY Jewish style humor and lettermans peoples skills was just magic ofcourse. Bill Mahers shit talking and stupid jokes indeed suits my humor style better, even if he repeats the same topics about 1.000.000 times. Anyways ......The late show with ..... sure is something totally different then before :)

Iam following 20 comedies of the 80 shows iam following : Girls, House of Lies, Archer, 2 Broke Girls, Louie, Orange Is The New Black, Silicon Valley, Million Dollar Listing NY, Inside Amy Schumer, Not Safe for Work, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Missie Aarde, Simpsons, Real Time with Bill Maher, The Big Bang History, The last man on Earth, Z Nation, Better Call Saul, Arrested Development.

It's not a BAD show, it's just not at the same level as the old show. It's a dumbed down version for CBS. Hopefully with Stewart on the writing team, they'll be able to push the boundaries a bit more after he falls off the radar when the shiny newness wears off.

I think the pilot was probably the worst episode. Give it another go.

Unimpressed, worst monologue, doesn't have a funny bone in his entire life. It is so repetitive it's sickening. Even Johnny Carson dead could make better jokes.

This guy has no originality at all. He panders to the "Royals" and doesn't have a funny bone in his body. Should just give in and quit.
