In late 19th-century Turin, the young Lidia Poët, fights against everything and everyone to get what is rightfully hers: to be enrolled in the official register of lawyers. A profession, at the time, reserved exclusively for men. Nevertheless, nothing could stop her dream of becoming the first female lawyer in Italy.

Sumptuous. Lavish. Gorgeous. It starts off slow and predictable, but gets a lot better in the second half. Has a lovely, ambiguous ending. Dario Anita was the most fascinating, but all of the actors were beautiful and skilled.

Beautifully shot and cast with an intriguing premise, but don't mistake it for anything more than light entertainment. They don't sweat the details, and that's ok. Taken at face value, there is plenty of enjoyment to be had. Just don't scrutinize too hard. I would happily watch another season if it comes.
